Jamie Foxx confirms he wont be blue this time around SPIDER-MAN 3: Jamie Foxx Confirms Electro Return & Reveals That He "Won't Be Blue In This One"
TASM Electro had some pretty cool VFX/action. I can see why Feige would want to use him. And it's about time the MCU moved from armored dudes into superhumans.
Thank christ. It's bad enough if this actor-playing-the-same-character-again rehash thing is gonna become the new "fun(ny)" thing to do now, but at least we won't have to see him doing that brutally lame blue Kremzeek thing again.
I don't see how his costume is any sillier than a man with robotic octopus arms or a high schooler wearing pajamas with spider webs on them.
So that means everything in the first two Garfield movies are canon? Doesn't that create some issues?
Fox is coming back, but he isn't the same Electro... that is a little confusing for the average viewer isn't it? Seems like a misstep.
I am sure some will be confused, but if they make him different enough from his previous iteration of the character, then there may be no confusion (i mean Jaime Foxx himself confirmed he wont be blue this time, so that is a good first step in making it clear this is not the same Electro he previously played) I mean rarely anyone is confused as to how its possible for JK to be in the Raimiverse and MCU as Jameson. And also the MCU is not be the first franchise to bring back an actor to reprise its role in a rebooted universe, been done before
That would be so great. I don't see how it would be confusing when the MCU is clearly a different universe.
I still have people ask me why they recast Spiderman from the last movie(presumably TASM) when I tell them I’m a Marvel fan. Oh boy. I had some lady at work ramble on to me the other day about how much she LOVES Marvel after proceeding to tell that her two favorite movie series were Hunger Games and Twilight and she thought Marvel was on the same level as them. I was just like “okay lady, sure.” She didn’t know half of the character names besides the main Avengers, but kept talking about she was such a “HUGE FAN.” If were as huge of a fan as you were saying, you wouldn’t refer to Falcon as “that one flying guy.” I mean, I know not everyone can be like us. But so many people see the movies and JUST THE MOVIES and automatically think that because they like ONE MOVIE that it makes them huge fan of character and all knowing about them. Hell, I’ve seen people like this for Transformers before too, and it’s a joke. It doesn’t make you a huge fan, it makes you a fan of a piece of media centered around said character. But the Hunger Games and Twilight comparison to the MCU made me laugh so hard internally that I just tuned the rest of her rambling out.
Gotta admit, I was confused when Judi Dench portrayed M in 2 James Bond continuities instead of going with another actor as M for the Daniel Craig continuity. Same actress playing the same role, but not the same character.
Define average viewer. If someone has watched every MCU movie then no, there is no reason why they would be confused. If they just watch a movie every now and then and don't care enough to pay attention, yes, they will be confused, but they're not going to care in the slightest anyway.
There are people out there who confused Rogue One with the Sequel Trilogy. I'm just saying... Only way this makes sense is if they are doing some kind of Spiderverse/Multiverse kind of thing..
I think after Phase 3, Kevin Feige has become a dumb fuck and the lightning in a bottle is over. He likes Foxx as Electro in that movie?! Holy fuck, he was the worst part with Goblin right after.
It's already been said that he liked his acting, and tried to advise Sony against a lot of the silly, exaggerated bits of the writing. Foxx's acting was great. His character arc was goofy.
He liked the casting, but he had issues with how he was written, he gave Sony advices on how to improve the character, but Sony chose to ignore all of the advices Feige gave them on how to make Electro a better character (Heck he gave advices on how to improve the film period, but Sony threw all of his advices into the toilet) And lets be fair, its not Jamie Foxx fault, he's a good actor, but he had to play the character the way Marc Webb, Orci & Kurtzman, Arad and Tolmach envisioned, the way they wanted him to play the character Right now we would be seeing Foxx as Electro under Feige and Watts vision, this is a new iteration of the character, so its a clean slate for Foxx, Feige and Watts
