Adam Beechen claims it takes place after Prime but is mean't to be different, and tell its own story and that every time a Prime character has come in, it was because they thought that character would be fun to use and not that it would be a Prime reference.

I don't know why that would happen. Great Byte isn't even in the show according to Adam.

So, they never intended it to be a sequel?. Disappointing, but I get it, I guess.

It was intended by Hasbro as a sequel but the creative team wanted to tell their own story with their own characters, only including Prime characters they saw as interesting, and referencing Prime only when it helped the story or was necessary to tell the story they wanted to tell. Pretty noble goal in a world demanding a perfect sequel or continuation.

Hi-Test is still OP's Activator. He was supposed to appear to steal Strongarm's DH but that wouldn't make sense since he is going to betray to join OP, so Goldgear stole Strongarm's DH. Hi-Test is still gonna appear in the show. That Red Chompazoid doesn't have a name. Its a fan name applied by a fan's sister which Adam said wouldn't be official. Great-Byte was Sawtooth's original name. They just wanted to include a toy with Sideswipe so they used the green design on Sawtooth's artwork and gave him Sawtooth's OG name. When they don't reveal info its because its not important to the story they're trying to tell but if a writer finds it interesting they could return to it later which might not always happen.
Rotorstorm, Pyro, Seaspray, and Hardshell are dead. CYLAS is also dead and Airachnid has probably run out of Insecticons to drain Energon from and thus is probably also dead. Silas killed all of MECH when he became CYLAS. None of the TF Prime humans will return. Skyquake is stuck in the Shadowzone, decapitated due to losing his limb and Dreadwing died in the Nemesis which is on Cybertron. You should avoid using fan names and concepts when talking about returning characters. Only Megatron and Team Prime have a chance to appear unless we see Dropforge in a flashback or the Primes contact Optimus again in which case we'll see Alpha Trion.

    Thanks for clearing that Airjitzu.

    Also,
    Galvatronicons:

Could Cyberwarp and Skyjack combine into Crash Combiner Skywarp? They could have just made Warrior Skywarp since it was obvious for Warrior Starscream.

Also,Shockdrive and Warnado respectively look like Cyclonus and Riotgear on box art.Clones maybe?

    Thanks,

Your Skywarp theory reminds me of Dragonstorm. Reading Shocknado's bio on Hasbro's site gives me a drone soldier feeling since it only describes their power and gives me the feel of soldiers who watch prisoners.

Had a feeling the TFP kids won't be coming back. Shame too since it'd be awesome to see how they've been doing since the events of TFP.

I do give them props for not wanting to rethread what was done before but at the same time I can understand the frustration some TFP fans have because it's not the sequel they wanted or expected. The fact that the Aligned universe will soon end to make way for Cyberverse thus ending any chance for a series that does feel like a continuation of TFP to show up doesn't help matters too.

TFP really doesn't need a sequel Imo. Minus a few things it wrapped most of its plotlines pretty well. RID has wrapped up much of what Prime left hanging. One thing I can think of is Jack going on to the military coming out of nowhere and going nowhere.

If the Aligned universe is truly kaput after this, that's a crime shame. Too much potential wasted for it to end now.

At least we have the IDW Hasbro-verse to depend on, but for me personally, I don't have the patience or willpower to read through 1000 issues worth of story at this point unless there's a jumping off point that doesn't require massive research. Other than reading through the TFWiki, I may drop out of the Transformers jig for a while. Marvel and DC are doing some really cool stuff with their cinematic and animated/TV universes.

I wonder if some of the other members of the staff had problems with the direction Beechin wanted to take with RID15? Like most of them wanted the series to be more of a sequel to TFP or at least had ideas to bring some characters and elements back from it but were turned down by him thus making them unhappy.

True. I feel like IDW has too many characters, many debuting just to die and too many storylines to get invested in. The series is interesting and has continued to hold my interest but there's so much content and so many Transformers.
From what he's said, the entire team enjoyed making RID and wanted to tell their own stories with the show instead of being held back by the requirment of it being a sequel. But it all boils down to again, did TF Prime truly need a sequel? Think of that what you will but from my perspective most characters got a good ending and for many of the ones that didn't, RID has handled or is handling them well.
