I tried to level the pictures a little.

 

I do hope this Grimlock is about the same size as MP Grimlock, like Alpha is. He's the Perfect CHUG size for a Dinobot. Plus I need the other 4 Dynobots!

Alpha seems similar in height to Orion, but much bulkier.

 

Mp Grimlock size would be about half a head taller and far broader than Alpha. That seems right to me.

 

This MP War Within line is beautiful. Hope we The Fallen next!

 

That would be awesome! A Fallen with the same glossy paint used for Alpha would be a sight to behold.

 

And Imagine if they include some flame effect accessories! A lot of potential

 

And that would be inaccurate as how he was in the War Within comics. Grimlock was much bigger and taller than Optimus Prime in that series.

This is smaller than MP. Alpha is shorter than MP Grimlock, who is shorter than MP10.

I hope we get the Fallen and Dynobots. Seekers and Insecticons might be nice too.

Titanium Prowl might be close to scale with Alpha.

Just seen those Insecticon designs, they look brilliant! I think their Hearts of Steel designs are still my favourites, but I feel like there isn't much chance of those happening any more.  

 

Which is funny because G1 designer are oldest, War Within slightly less newer, and Hearts of Steel the newest, but if you ask fans the it's "too late" for Hearts of Steel toys.

 

Disagree. The size and the aesthetics are there this is totally MP. At least for me it is and it can be CHUG for you. Either way, I hope the QC is right with this company because I'm in on three figs so far!

I think it has to do with the line being abandoned. The only company to pick up that style, MMC obviously, has dropped it and moved on to two other styles. As of today there appears to be no one interested in reviving it. If you had asked in the week or so before Spark Toys revealed itself I would expect WW fans would be just as pessimistic. There are people who follow specific lines who I guess it could be called "too late" since they have moved on and made their choice. For those of us that buy whatever is cool it will never be too late. The only question is whether or not a company will ever pick the style up to manufacture.

I can understand his thoughts on it. His height is Orion's, but I feel his aesthetic is much more MP. I admit that is purely personal feel so it will vary from person to person. Of course since WW is a different version of Optimus it could be that he is smaller then his G1 incarnation.

Actually the fact that he is a size that people can decide which collection he fits in for themselves is great for Spark Toys since it expands their sales pool.

 

Damn they are going to make me buy this whole line aren't they.

Really wanted the titanium war within figures to be this good. But they were trash. Taken quite a while to get better versions and now that they are here I don't think I can pass them up.

Gonna hold til reviews of alpha are up but I'll go all in if they are as solid as FT offerings. Always wanted this line bad.

 

You might want to get that Po, their prime is looking sick from the vids of the proto. Megz and grim are at least as sick, so should be good.

1 thing I noticed from the prime, they could made the backpack better with sides that fold under the canopy and a tab go hold the bottom in place. A bigger issue is the lack of motion, it can do a lot of poses, but only as far as a fat man or a really bulky guy. It could have been designed better to allow for further motion.

Aside from those nitpicks their prime is pretty much perfect. Paint appscould be improved by doing a custom job, to make it look DW a custom is the way to go. At least the base color is already great, and gonna be better. Shits good.

 

I am so buying this. Now They jst need to do Huffer and Hound!!

 

The production version is going to be taller than that earlier prototype.
