Assume you know how Soundwave will speak if he had spoken.

What do you think he'll speak like?

I'm assuming he talks with just that G1 voice echo.

I have no idea what he will say though......

Something like this would make me very happy. A distorted, almost demonic, dark and foreboding voice that strikes fear and unnerve into all who hear it.

 

I'd prefer for him not to speak at all (he's gone mute so long and placed it into good effect that anything he says won't stand to the fanhype of him as the awesome-ninja-slenderman *patent pending*) but if he did have to speak, I'd want him to speak in a quiet emotionless even tone but with a Sovereign/ G1 soundwave echo effect.

 

Probably sort of like how he did in G1.

Add me to the Sovereign camp. I would literally want that exact voice honestly.

 

That sovereign voice is awesome! It just needs a little echoing added.

 

Any voice is just going to sound anti-climatic at this point.

I'd like either Sovereign or Frank Welker back as Soundwave.

 

I would something on the BW Waspinator level, not that voice but something like that. Something that can go from twisted heavy to creepy soft. Something that would forever transform the character, kind of like Mark Hamill's Joker laugh. It wasn't just one standard laugh as before, it was many depending on the mood of the character.

No, I wasn't saying it should be him. Just was mentioning his prefromance forever changed Joker. Showing that sometimes thinking outside the normal could give rise to something better.

Frank's G1 Soundwave just wouldn't work for me given the character's design. It has to fit with the design, not something that feels force to make older fans happy.

 

I'm going to be incredibly disappointed if it's just a G1 vocoder voice.

Like, what's even the point of hyping it up and having him not speak if it's just going to be the same thing we've heard a billion times before? Also if the first thing he says is "x inferior, Soundwave superior" I'm going to cringe all the way to Pluto and back.

 

I'd like him to speak in a frequency that only Transformers can hear...

 

Another good choice for a voice is Brainiac from Superman/JLU. Cold, Emotionless,Hollow....Just right imo. Other than that im sold on Sovereign as well.

 

Nope. Not if it's:
A.) A voice that sends chills down your spine.
B.) If he talks when no one expects it, viewer or in-show character.

I believe there was an interview at some point that said they had plans for Soundwave to speak...then again, I think they also said they had it planned for season 2, so it might have become a victim of the 'writing compression' that happened in there as well.

I don't want 'the Soundwave voice' for him, if he does speak. It's just so expected by now, which is unfortunately why it's probably exactly what we WILL end up getting if he speaks. Because Prime basically doesn't do anything new, ever.
