Nashville is going after some of Florida's vacationers AND no more worries about 'gators...

When I heard the name of the park, couldn't help it, cracked me up a bit and wondered if Hasbro would have something to say about it... or just going to schedule their vacations soon. :D

NASHVILLE — A water park complex that Ryman Hospitality has planned for its Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center will cost $90 million and cover more than 217,000 square feet, including water slides, food and bar service and a live entertainment area.

The company hopes to open the facility, which will link to its Opryland hotel building, in late 2018. Ryman Hospitality detailed plans for the indoor/outdoor water park to be called Soundwaves at a press event Wednesday.

Not going to lie, "Soundwaves" is probably going to attract more people in Tennessee than "Gaylord Opryland Resort"

They used to have a small amusement park near by there as well. It closed in 1997, one of my friends worked there one summer when he was 16 right before it closed.
[IMG]Wasn't too impressive, boy scouts and local schools usually took kids on tips to Six Flags in Georgia instead.

:lol  I went there ONE time... today the whole Opryland complex, hotels, Malls, IMAX, New Ryman etc. are built on top of what was Opry Land.... it's close to the Cumberland River which is why they were flooded out so badly in 2010... but now there's Malls and eateries out the whazoo.. so I was actually surprised there's any room left to do this.
About the only thing left were the General Jackson Riverboat cruises, which I think are still ongoing.

Guess when you have tons of $$$, the name doesn't matter... figures they'd stay with the 'Sounds' name tho...local baseball team are called the Nashville Sounds... so we have Sounds this and that.
Just made the TF connection for me tho.

Just remember, Hasbro: you were there first.

If Opryland starts giving you trouble, never let them forget it: you were there first.

I used to live in Murfreesboro which is about 30minutes away, so I went there a few times with the family.

Ahhh, the good old days.. you haven't lived there in a while methinks... The 'Boro is around an hour away now... (maybe less in the early or late hours)... mainly due to the growth of the SE side of Nashville all the way to the 'Boro. Some of my fam lives there still... just getting across the 'Boro can take more than 30 minutes...it's a mess traffic wise these days.

Yeah I was in highschool at the time and the family moved in the mid 90s. We go back occasionally for friends weddings and such, but I like the area I'm in much better. Though being right outside of Atlanta if I want to go into the city depending on the time of day it can range from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Two or more if there is a really bad accident.

Why u people so close to me.

Honestly I've only ever been to Nashville a couple times when I was younger. The closest I get nowadays is the airport. Never really has impressed me. I hear they have a killer TRU though. The one in the Boro used to be amazing when I was younger.
