I was watching a modern marvels on military planes. And one of the final planes they brought up was the reaper. It made me think of prime soundwave *his alt mode*. and I noticed a bit of trivia. I think soundwave's alternate mode represents his personality really well. Soundwave dose not use his own voice to talk. He has no distinguishable facial features, more of a blank reflective slate. And he is super creepy about it. He has no apathy, no emotion, and is calculating. No signs of humanity. Which is reflected in his alt mode, and unmanned aireal vehicle. Both are just pure machines. Just something fun I thought up
Interesting, BO101!! Makes you wonder if the TFP creators watch Military or Modern Marvels too. Hmmmm?
Here is the reaper drone And here is soundwave's alt mode And I do hope they watch military Channel or history channel. Cause it's awesome
That makes his alt mode even cooler than it already was. And makes the wait for his toy seem even longer.
I was always under the impression that everyone's alt mode was a reflection of character. Our most recent reminder of this would have to be Knock Out. Even Starscream is proud of his mode as seen in the episode Partners.
Awesome comparison, and now I spontaneously want the toy that I have been not wanting since it's announcement! Bring on Deluxe TFP Soundwave!
There's also the fact that UAVs are commonly used for surveillance, and Soundwave sees and hears everything.
Kinda wish Soundwave got into combat more. So far, he has used his deployer, tentacle things against humans, and not much else. We have yet to see him fight another Cybertronian, which is really disappointing.
I never thought about it, but you are right, Soundwave's alt mode does seem to be how his personality is. Good job thinking of that!
i didnt even think about that! nice observation! HAHA... GET IT? OBSERVATION? UAV? true. also like how starscream highly resembles a general dynamics F-16 fighting falcon, but not exactly. like how bumblebee is a camero-esque muscle car. they cant be exactly like the real life vehicles for copyright reasons.
Also, if anyone remembers the Beast Wars episode where some of the Maximals stayed in beast mode too long, there was a plot/sub plot about how they take on characteristics of their alt modes when they assume them (presumably while in either mode), so it makes perfect sense in Prime as well. Heck, this went even farther back, as guys like Preceptor, Grimlock, Soundwave (omg omg) reflected themselves in ways other than simply using their alt modes as tools, which makes perfect sense, given that it's just as much a part of them as their robot modes.
Too true, but yeah the Dinobots solidify this fact best. They were stupid because dinosaurs had small brains. Likewise, their primal rage came from them being dinosaurs. Why is Soundwave being treated as a special surprise now?
I think the only humanity we've seen from Soundwave is him stopping Starsceram from killing Wheeljack.
Very silent surveillance as well. Recently those UAV's have been outfitted with missiles to take out targets. So Soundwave is is not only silent, but deadly too. Who knows, maybe down the road Soundwave will carry some missile drones under his wings that turn into Laserbeak, Ravage, Rumble, and Frenzy? That would be kind of cool.
