Not too far into this one, just finished up the base coat. More to come. Hit him with silver dry brushing to highlight areas. Next step will be a blue pearl that I've been itching to try out! **Update- I've started on the blue pearl coloring, but I just don't know if I'm feeling it? I almost feel it makes him look too fem, idk? I really need some feedback on whether or not to continue with this blue color, or to scrap it.
Not exactly. I picked up some blue pearl I figured I'd try out on him. So, he'll be a mixture of that and gun metal. I just finished up some silver dry brushing, but considering my weak camera option I thought I'd skip posting it, since it would probably not show up well, or at all. I'm actually loving him right now in the gun metal with the silver highlights! Ahh, hell...I'll post what I just did in a sec.
Updated with the start of the blue pearl coloring. I really need feedback on what you guys think of this blue. I'm on the fence on whether I like it or not. I think it's a good color, just not sure if it's fitting of this character.
Well, usually I prefer dark colours and a variety of matte & glossy surfaces.... So, I'd say the original matte navy blue. He is a dark mysterious character afterall....Maybe add some darker gun metal detailings as well ? Just my 2c. Keep up the good work
Ha, I know what you mean! I think what I'm going to do is change his right hand blade back to all metallic. I just did this left shoulder and arm in the blue pearl (like the left is) and I believe I'll hit some areas on his legs with the same color and leave the blue at that. I'll probably highlight a lot of other areas with a silver and see how he looks in the end. I had thought of a black wash to dull the blue a bit, but I dunno how great that will work and I'm also weary of accidently hitting the transparant blue areas on his with that wash, so may skip that?
