Ive read some things and I am wondering if anyone else thinks Soundwave is going to be what Starscream was in the first one. Meaning barely any screen time. I mean they try to get Soundwave in the first and cant...so they get him in ROTF and have really made it a big deal. I hope just having him even be in the movie isnt what its all about. I cant tell you how many times I have replayed the one Starscream line haha. I hope its not the same with Soundwave.
less screentime than starscream. soundwave doesn't even turn into a robot in it, he spends the movie plugged into a satellite and only says a few lines.
I am hoping Soundwave will get at least 5 to 10 minutes of screen time and I also the voice of Welker will be more than one sentence.
My thing is why bring in a major character and barely have him be in the film. I understand the first movie they set limits on the amount of transformer screentime, but this time around having more freedom...Soundwave should have more than 5-10 minutes of screentime. lol. Wheelie might get more time! cmon lol.
It's just to expand the universe, there are sooooo many transformers and cameos from them is cool in my book. its gonan piss people off him being in it only for a tiny amount but look at doc connors in spidey 1-3 he is in every single one and has a tiny part sometimes only mentioned. i think its good because if tehy bring him in now slighlty then when he turns up proper in the third it wont just be more arriving again same old plot entrance ya know
Look at it this way, if he just stays in space for this movie, it means he doesn't die in the end and would be able to have a larger role in the next film.
According to the adaptations, his appearances will be minimal. This is indeed a shame and we can only hope that he has a far larger role in TF3.
At least Ravage has a big role in it. I hope somehow Rumble or a Frenzy look alike is with him. I suppose it could be wheelie, but I doubt it
That is the worse rationalization i have ever heard. lol Come on now. Let's be honest they hyped this character they made a big deal that he "was" going to be in the 2nd one and then they made an even bigger deal that he "is" in the second one and now Bay just decides nah no fan service thats not my M.O. (its more like a way of life for him) honestly saying a single line or two is not justifiable. They may not get to a third movie you know so why pin the hopes on that one when the stories coming out about this one already have pissed off even some of the truly devoted Bayformer fans. Its really irresponsible of Paramount and Hasbro to mislead the public so. Hell even the Toy that is released in wave one would indicate the potential for a robot mode, hell actually anything including the subject of the movie would. Maybe Hasbro and Bay couldnt see eye to eye on the color of him in the movie and Bay just scrapped him altogether. In the leaked images Soundwave was black after all and if he is soooo iconic i could see how hasbro would think that would hurt the trademark image.
Because Bay knows you WILL watch Transformers 3 if Soundwave gets a bunch of screen time in it after teasing you with him in Transformers 2. Face it. Bay owns you. You want to prove me wrong? Do not watch this movie ever, that includes dvd and network t.v releases...I dare you.
I agree. They didnt need to overhype it like they did. Just having him in the movie is enough for them. But it is possible this is the best way to use Soundwave. Ruling over all communications and no one being able to even find him. LOL.
Spoiler I'm really dissapointed people have said he will not be in robot mode very much and i am extremely annoyed
I'm not surprised, once I heard how many characters were going to be in the film, I knew it would be the first movie all over again
