I don't thin that's the robot mode when he lands on the satellite, Autobot_Wall-E. That mode looks identical to the toy's satellite mode. As a robot in the prequel comics he looks like the toy's robot mode. He is in silhouette in Alliance #2 and in full view in Defiance #4 (need to check that as I'm not entirely certain about those references). If the robot mode was the satellite landing bit, the image in IDW's comics would match, surely? Given the choice of being movie-accurate or toy-accurate, I can't see IDW ignoring the film.

As for another toy, he needs to be bigger. I definetely want a Voyager mold.

 

We'll just have to wait and see. Soundwave's role was not very action oriented, but it would suck if we didn't get to see him in robot mode, even if for just a little bit.

But I like his role in the movie. He's like the eyes & ears of the Decepticons and that's pretty cool.

 

Im not getting my hopes up on it, but, im really pissed about his new look, why couldnt he take an earth form, he looks like shit, whats the deal with all those pics where he is a sweet ass armored truck??? Why cant that be soundwave??

 

I've gotta feeling we won't see him in bot mode on Earth but perhaps we get a courtesy transformation while he's in orbit so he can have some polite chit chat with Megatron or something.. ..

 

I thought his relationship with Starscream was well portrayed in the prequel. Starscream was shocked to learn that he was alive, and immediately went to him. I hope he appears during the final battle. He was hyped by the writers, afterall.

 

I'm not concerned about his appearance, they could have wrote him in the movie to please us, then had him die 2 minutes into the movie...

I defently wanna see Soundwave in action but at the same time happy he is in the film. I will say that I really really hope the theory that Soundwave gives the constructicons (or any con coming to earth)thier alt forms as they enter the atmosphere is true. I just love this idea soooo much!

 

I agree with Autobot WALL-E, that most likely he'll only be seen in robot mode onboard the nemesis. Actually, thats pretty much the only place i'd like him to be seen. He's not a grunt. He's tactics

 

I believe Soundwave is too much of a major character to not appear in bot mode at some point in the movie. I reckon he is being kept as a surprise for the movie release. There have to be some things in the movie that we dont get to see in trailers beforehand.

 

I really hope some of you are right and that they are saving him for the film, he has always been the best character in my opinion and deserves to be shown in bot mode in at least 2 scenes like barricade was.

that being said I am also mentally preparing myself to not see him on earth or in battle just incase - to avoid dissapointment.

I seriously hope you're right, for that would be the funniest scene in the history of Transformers if followed with cricket noises.

I want his g1 head, shoulder cannon and voice...I think thats what makes optimus in the movie universe, why not do it for the others?
