Been working on this guy for about 3 years. Finally decided enough for now and just going to post him. He was a classic Prime and considering how similar Prime and Soundwave's basic design always seemed to be it made sense to use Prime for this.

    What I modded
Head-was a Prime head cut, resculpted, added visor etc
Chest area-cut all of the cab of Prime off and then used styrene to create the tape cassette area (no it doesn't open)
Upper Arms-I added some cutable magnets since they gave a really smooth finish and gave his upper arms a more "techy" look then the design that was on Primes.
Waist-I wanted to veer away from the cassette player aspect of Soundwave but still wanted similar things in certain areas. I had a calculator that broke so it donated its button to the top of Soundwave shoulder and waist pieces.

The figure was painted black first and then I added a really cool flecked blue and then worked on all of the other details.

He doesn't transform into a cassette player but instead the "cybertronian road post" seen in the first episode and also a listening station. I'll get shots of those in the next few days.

Obvious areas I want to improve up on for my next Transformer customs which is turning the Deluxe Seekers into Voyager scale (Starscream has already made me bleed my own blood and get a few stiches). This was my first shot with styrene or doing a really heavy mod to a Transformer figures

    Enjoy

Very cool! Does this transform at all? It's still pretty awesome regardless. I like the paint apps and the mold used. The best part are the head and chest areas--nice work!

    我认为如果作者换了一个新头部,作品便能做得更好。

Not too bad, actually. My only complaint is the wheels are still there, it would help if you removed them, but great job nonetheless.

That is almost EXACTLY how I picture Generations G1 Soundwave to look.

Now if only Hasbro would get rid of the WFC version and release this instead!

Hey yes he does, not into a cassette player. He transformes into a "lamppost" and also a movable listening post that I played around with. I'll post some of the pictures soon.

    Is this good?

Thanks that was what I was hoping for. I wanted a resemblance since the two always seemed similar to me in build but I wanted them to stand a part as well.

    Thanks man, it's a-coming!

I've always felt that too. I remember getting the toys as a kid and asking my mother if they were brothers. She of course had no idea. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to seeing your MP Soundwave!

Thanks...I think. I had considered it and was going to go with a stereo screen. However at the end of the day I decided it doesn't matter.

Yes it does kind sir. I'll have those pictures up in a few days.

    Thank You I appreciate that.

    It's a-coming!

I actually really liked yours and still do and remember when you posted it. I thought it was cool to see someone else use some similar parts.

    Thanks

Thanks I don't know what Hasbro's obstinance is with releasing figures sometimes. They just make me shake my head. I based Soundwave off of some Figuerora Artwork of Soundwave I saw and wanted to really capture the cool style he brings to Transformers.

    Thanks again everyone
