The wiki gives a different story then the bio on the back of the FOC figure,anyone know if there is a "correct" background story for this character?

 

There is no "correct" backstory. There's a backstory for the G1 cartoon version, and then a backstory for the FOC version. It's not meant to be the same character.

 

well as far as the FOC story,does he and soundwave both exist at the same time or is he soundwave "rebuilt" as the box says?if so,did soundwave somehow get destroyed?sorry,I dont have or play the game.

 

The story the toys tell should not be considered canon to the story the game/show tells. Soundwave survives in FoC. The Soundblaster toy really just exists to...well, so that Hasbro has an excuse to sell the same toy but in different colors.

 

Pretty much this. Hasbro had to have a bio for their obligatory repaint, so they took the gist of Soundblaster from G1 (Soundwave dead, rebuilt stronger) and applied it to FOC. There's nothing canon about it, no more than there is canon about all those Movie Optimus Prime repaints.

 

Soundwave and Soundblaster (at least in G1) are in the same. Soundwave was rebuilt (forgot what made him in need of a rebuilt) into Soundblaster. I think it's the same for FOC.


I, myself, treat FOC Soundblaster as Soundwave's gothic clone who writes songs about goth stuff like vampires and stuff. I know, I'm weird.....

 

the wiki said something about shockwave having some program that created sunstorm as well as soundblaster.it was discovered by the battlechargers? and sunstorm destroyed the lab.

Both versions of the bio are nearly the same: Soundwave got damaged, was rebuilt and took on a new name and new color scheme. There you go.

And since FOC and G1 are two different continuities, neither one can be "correct" over the other.

That also said it was from the Dreamwave comics. Which is its own continuity. His original appearance in the Japanese cartoon didn't use that that bio.

 

Galvatron reconstructed another Soundwave... and named him NEW Soundwave.

 

It also says:

"Dreamwave Generation 1 comics"

Headers are there for a reason!

 

I don't know whats so hard to accept that there can be different continuities of the same characters.

You're talking about this TFWiki article for Soundblaster, which is an article for an easter-egg appearance of an inoperative black-coloured Soundwave, one of many clones created by Soundwave who were all based on alternate Japanese color schemes and characters for existing characters, who has been labelled "Soundblaster" for organization purposes, lacking as he does any other name, and has an article of his own because he is not Soundwave. The ACTUAL non-easter-egg real-character Soundblaster is the original Soundwave, who was created in "The Headmasters" cartoon, in the same manner as described in his FoC bio.

 

But it's "New Soundwave"!
