I previously had my password set as "password", which was eventually hacked. I felt pretty embarrassed when it was featured in an episode of House when Chase had the exact same password and it was also hacked. Never again!
I usually have an entire paragraph as my password. especially on gaming sites and crappy social sites and ESPECIALLY on sites like Yahoo
I can't think of how someone can make different passwords for every website they go to. Someone on this board can say he does but I bet no one would.
My passwords are normally composed of hieroglyphs and Sanskrit, so I should be fine. "Eagle, sun, squiggle squiggle, sun-behind-mountain, angry eye, squiggle" for life.
My passwords are like 20 characters long, mixed with lower/uppercase letters and numbers. Like hiubIUopPUb9H8h...
My passwords Are different between different services. I have them all written down and within reach so in case I forget them, I don't have to change them. They're usually Phrases or words with Random Letters Capitalized, Random Letters Replaced with Numbers, And Random Letters Replaced with the Symbols above the Numbers on my Keyboard. and they're usually longer than seven letters.
I'd tell you my secret for having different passwords for every sight, but a hacker could be lurking. I also have a system for when I need to change passwords at a regular interval.
Simple. Keep all the passwords in a secret document, then when you need to use them you just copy-paste them from the document to the related text fields. Most hackers try to track keystrokes in order to obtain log-in information, so they can't do to much when all they get is "right mouse click, left mouse click" or "control + v"
