    I like the expressiveness.
    Everything else is whatever.

Aladdin in Chinaland. Doesn't look too bad, but, man, did you just rip that film straight from Disney's Aladdin.

China does have a thing with ripping things off.

Then again, look at Lion King/Kimba. Or Aladdin/Ducktales movie.

Um it looks okay I guess. I'm sure it'll be a fun little thing to take younger kiddies too.

For a hot minute I thought this was going to be the Chinese animated movie White Snake with a silly translated name. Alas.

Nice animation, but boy this looks like they had ONE idea and are milking that without any real plot.
Also basically it's Mushu becoming the Genie, like a Disney Crossover.
Not to mention, further pandering to China, as usual. Is Sony so broke? I thought they were a Japanese company. Why not invest in anime instead? Worked out for a lot of studios.
Btw, isn't there another CGI movie coming with a poodle-like chinese dragon? Or maybe that's a kirin...

Looks like a movie that would be sold to netflix before it's release here. It might be good but the trailer makes it look as plain as can be.

I would say, from a quick search on wiki, that this is not Sony pandering to China. But, more so, a Chinese animated production, that's being co-produced by Sony, in order to reach a larger audience.

I don't know what White Dragon is, but Wiki shows this listed as an 'original' story, by Chris Applehans. Who also directs it. I assume White Dragon is some kind of Chinese story. Is it this close to Aladdin? I know nothing about it. Is this it, and is Wiki wrong? Do you know?

No no, White Snake is nothing like Aladdin. I made that assumption based on title alone. I'll grab you the White Snake trailer

So yeah, I could not have been more wrong in my assumption.

Ah, okay, I remember seeing that trailer once before. See, I have no idea what it was, so I got confused on your comment. I thought you were knocking me, for calling this 'Aladdin' when it was something else. And, I didn't want to get upset about something I was confused for.

Thank you for the clarification on what you meant. But, yea, that does look totally different than this.

See, I thought you meant this was based on 'White Snake', so, it's not ripping off Disney. When, this is clearly ripping straight from Disney. Which confused more more.

Ah OK. So Sony is just releasing it, not actually making it.
White Snake is based on an ancient myth and had actually quite a lot of adaptations. Plus that movie has been out for months already.

I was referring to this other chinese dragon movie btw, apparently it is from Disney.

Oh, yea, that one is a Disney production. This is a Chinese production, being distributed by Sony. (One of the producers is Jackie Chan.) He apparently is getting top billing for this.

It is supposed to be an original story of some kind. But, the trailer isn't doing it justice at all. The trailer is selling it as Disney's Aladdin but in China. Not just the Aladdin story itself, but, specifically Disney's Version of Aladdin.
