Looks like Sony unveiled a bunch of new things today. Showed God of War 2 on PS2. Warhawk gameplay was shown, and apparently looked great. The real time demo of Motorstorm they showed didnt look as good as it did at last year's E3 (no suprise there). Demo for Heavenly Sword was also shown.

As of right now, the only video I can get from today is the God of War 2 teaser. Enjoy

Edit: changed link to GoW trailer.

For people that don't feel like reading all that, the big highlight is that the PS3 will be completely region free for games. So long as your TV supports the video format, it will play the game.

What, you mean Sony's "absolutely-not-fake-this-time-we-swear" videos were fake? Gee, I'm shocked.

Prof. maybe I'm dense, but I don't see where this post says that about region-free games anywhere.

Coldhart is correct, PS3 is region free. I guess that rundown didnt include those details. Anyway, here is proof from IGN:

broadband will be required? interesting, I know 11 lads who won't be buying PS3, shame, they were looking forward to it. That could go for alot of people who don't have access to broadband.

Can't believe there isn't more of a buzz with the announcement of a completely region free gaming experience on a home console. I won't need to mod my system (I don't care about home brew and I actually pay for my games). I think it presents some pretty exciting possibilities.

:41 - Playstation 2 is still key, with games such as God of War 2 in development. Sony
1:42 - David Jaffe, creative director of God of War 2 takes the stage. PS3 software to be shown.
    1:43 - PS3 videos will be shown.
1:44 - God of War 2 video shown.
1:45 - God of War 2 looks amazing. Crowd roars.

    That's a bit confusing, but I think it's for PS2.

About the PS3 being Broadband required? :mad
I don't have a connection like that at all.

I think had it happened before it became a regular feature of the handhelds now - since this is true for both PSP and DS - it might have generated more buzz

With how well those handheld systems are moving, people have grown more used to it and it may have taken a little steam out of it.

The region free feature is very shocking. It is definitely unlike Sony of America to openly lose out on potential profits. Maybe they will go to a more global brand by merging SoA, SoE and SoJ into simply Sony Computer Entertainment.

since its region free and blu-ray can hold so much stuff, can they launch games worldwide with all the languages on one disk?

Only if the developers plan for it. There are games released in japan that have english already on the discs, so you should be able to import with no problem. :)

Problem is, there is not too many of those games with English on them as well. I only know of 1 for the PSP and 1 for the DS.

...However, I can see alot of Blu-ray disc space being used up if the developers start using REALLY high quality audio (and textures) on the discs, but they should have enough room for English if they so wish to do it.

It has *always* been a feature on handhelds. Since the brick gameboy.
