It seems I've found a few besides the one I posted on page 1: "I'm Movin on" Rascal Flats...... Hits me right on, nearly describes my leaving Pittsburgh, and how I never could've become the Person I am if I'd stayed....(no way I was becoming a Firefighter back home) "I've lived in this place and I know all the faces Each one is different but they're always the same They mean me no harm but it's time that I face it They'll never allow me to change But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong I'm movin' on I sold what I could and packed what I couldn't Stopped to fill up on my way out of town I've loved like I should but lived like I shouldn't I had to lose everything to find out Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road" "When I'm Gone" Randy Newman, from Series finale of "Monk" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTM6mmAqRwA "The time for us to say goodbye is near The day I hoped would never come is here Though many hearts are broken we must somehow carry on Cause I think you're gonna miss me when I'm gone" It just reminds me of the people I never got to say goodbye to..... And I've been to way too many Funerals to not tear up for "Taps".... I can't even hear the first notes anymore....
Kyou no Hi wa Sayounara (Today is the Time For Goodbye) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a_Rv3zzdKw Even without knowing the scene it was in during Rebuild of Evangelion 2, this song and the tune just makes me want to cry.
Your still the same by bob singer, I was listening to this song when I came home to find my cat of 16 years got into some plant poison and was dying so every time hear the song I tear up
Offspring's "Fix You"... I used to sing it to my cat, Pandora when I was taking her to and from the vet when she was sick with cancer. I have a really hard time listening to it now.
Harry Chapin - Cat's in the Cradle It's me and my Dad. My Mom all those years ago told him we would end up exactly like the father and son in that song and she was right. I can't even listen to it.
Fields of Athenry [Ballad] (Sgt. Farrar Tribute) This is a special ballad recording of the song Fields of Athenry, as sung by the Dropkick Murphy's in tribute to a Marine sergeant who was to attend a concert of theirs but was killed in action prior to coming home. The only changes are they put Sgt. Farrer and his wife's first names in the song where there would normally be others. It's a beautiful rendition of the song, but I wish it didn't owe it's existence to the passing of a husband and father.
