Sigh, I hate to do this.. My wife is giving me the opportunity spend a little real money on a figure. I'd like to concentrate on my main collection, comprised of "Classics" and "psuedo-Classics," but I'm of course in a deadlock on what I actually should get. I either want to: Finally get a Henkei Optimus Prime Get Henkei/Universe Inferno Get a United Jazz to replace RTS Jazz and grab a RTS Grapple too Get a ROTF Mindwipe to go with my unopened Skystalker and maybe Grapple or United Jazz or Henkei Hound as well. Any thoughts?
I suggest your option 4 is best because: United Jazz, is leagues above the RTS version as it has a far better paint job. Henkei Hound, is the definitive version of that character. Comes with Ravage as a sweet bonus. ROTF Mindwipe, is probably the only update that the character is going to get, ever. It is also a great looking figure. As you know, he can combine with Skystalker to make a sweet looking superjet fighter.
How much of this "real money" are you looking to spend? [EDIT: Beat to the question.] Overall, I'd say Hound is the most improved Henkei figure over it's Classics release. And because of the second production run of him and Optimus, you'll find those for cheaper than most other Henkei figures. If you have to only go with one, go with Hound.
wow, I feel your problem making a choice there. So many good figures! The first thing I'm going to say is that you will be glad with any of those choices Of all those, United Jazz and Henkei Hound are definitively the best choices. Whatever you decide, show us when you get it
Another vote for Henkei Hound and United Jazz. I think both epitomize their lines' improvements over their Hasbro counterparts. Henkei Prime is tempting because of the weight of the character, but I think Hound and Jazz are much closer to my definition of a perfect Transformers toy.
If you already have RTS Jazz, then save at least $20 and get the Reprolabels for him. They make up for many of the problems the RTS one has that the United one fixes, and they ad sponsors and better stripes, which the United one still doesn't have.
Here's the budget right here, on 2 excellent figures like everyone else said. Transformers Henkei Classic C-13 Hound and Ravage Transformers Henkei Classic C-01 Convoy Optimus Prime Toyarena is the only site that had both in stock, TFSource being the only other site that had Optimus. Henkei is pretty well sold out unlees you were going through the Junkion or Ebay.
if you already have RTS Jazz, you don't really need United Jazz, Save your money for the other things.
this, if the rts' plain-ness bugs you, get the reprolabels, took him from one of the most boring decos, to one of the best in my display
Mindwipe(10-$20),Grapple($9.99 at Ross), reprolabels($9[$3 shipping]) and Henkei hound($27.00 at vnctoys[$10 shipping])...that should be a nice haul for under $100..
I do have RTS Jazz, but put up against a figure like Generations Wheeljack, he's becoming more and more disappointing. It's really as much the overall white color as much as the missed details. I've been steering to giving him the boot, the only Reprolabel set I like is the G2 set, and that doesn't really fit in with the present vision of my collection.
Hound and Jazz. Central characters in most g1 continuities. Great figures whose Takara versions surpass the US. I'm partial to OP. RtS Jazz + Reprolabels might suffice if you do Hound + OP.
Robotkingdom is the only place to get Jazz fairly cheap-- 32.90. I haven't opened him up yet but so far Jazz and Tracks are the only figures I got both U.S. and Takara.
