Yes, because there are laws against taking someone's "dibs."

Hate to break it to you but most major retailers don't care about who got dibs on an item or not.

Whoever pays first is usually all that matters to them.

I feel sympathy for you if no one else does and i offer a theory as well, its possible someone on a different shift from your friend knew nothing about the hold was asked about that figure by some one else and saw the hold and thought it was for that person and that person probably played along so as to get the figure and the guy later realized a mistake and went back and grabbed the BB to cover up his mistake.

Thats just a theory as we will never know what happened beyond the fact it was sold.

I wish you luck in locating another.

How old are you? I ask because most adults don't get huffy and whiny about "dibs" and judging by your collection count comment, I'm guessing you're probably barking up the wrong tree in this forum.

Besides, "holding" something is usually done for a matter of hours or so. Not days.

Have you asked your friend about it? Does your friend work at the TRU or something? This seems like something you should at least ask them about.

And honestly, I can't see what you're getting so upset about. HA Jazz is just beginning to show up, and he's mainly showing up at Targets. I'm sure he'll show up at that TRU again.

EDIT: Or like Grimlock1972 said, it's possible another employee had no idea the item was being held and it was given away when someone else asked for it.

But another thing you could have done was to have asked your friend to buy it for you, and that you'd pay them back for it.

You just described "Walmart <anywhere>" During huntin' season I go to Walmart, Target, TRU and sometimes others every day during lunch break. It's the only way to get the hot new item sooner than later. TRU is a *little* bit more trustworthy when it comes to checking the floor for an item, but for the most part I don't trust non-TF-fans to really give a crap about my request. So I go and look for myself.

Even those old figures were new at some point, right? HA Barricade and Mudflap are bad examples to use because they weren't very available anywhere. I only saw HA Barricade twice and once was when I bought him. I (along with several other collectors) never saw HA Mudflap at retail. I'm hoping BBTS actually gets their new shipment of him that I have on pre-order.

I can be completely empathetic to the fact that missing out on a figure you've been looking forward to getting can be frustrating. Truly, I can. We've all been there. But calling "dibs" (seriously?) and throwing a tantrum will not win you any sympathy from anyone who has moved on from their time in the fourth grade. Chill out, relax, and just wait. He's everywhere even in my area of the states. I'm sure he'll saturate your area soon enough.

This. I mean, will you go ranting on here again if you go out shopping for groceries and someone took your dibs of donuts?

Right? Seriously, not to go OT, but as far as I can tell, she's not even a member of the same SPECIES as the rest of us. So hot - I got dibs!
