Been away from these boards for a while so dont unleash your nerdlike anger upon me. I see things about Grindor, Blackout Repainted toys, I hear mentions of him in the movie with a new face and I see what appears to be his face in one of those trailers for a split second where his hand comes over the screen....so Im sure you guys already know the answer to this and its been posted so make sense of it to me since I havent been around.

In the movie is Blackout=Grindor? If not who is Grindor? Why is there a new face? Is he a descendant of Blackout? Who is the Decep in the trailer and the LG commercial with Prime bending over saying No! Decepticon! ?

 

It's not Blackout. It's Grindor. We never find out why he shows up, or if he's related to Blackout. It just happens without any explanation whatsoever.

Blackout didnt get revived. Just a similar robot. Not enough screentime to really...matter.

 

Grindor just shows up.

...That's really all there is to it. How a stunt like that can be pulled off, where an exact lookalike just apears outta nowhere, I will never know.

 

Grindor is just a decepticon soldier. It's not Blackout.

 

Bots choose similar alt modes, or are made from the same protoform batches. I'm guessing, like the Constructicons for example. Could be a good way of introducing The Seekers in the third film if they went that route.

Orci and Kurtzman said that there is a "reason for him being there as well as Blackout."

 

a reason? Well no explanation for blackout at all (Guessing hes still in parts on the seafloor) and grindor just shows up like all "Hey prime yeah i look EXACTLLY like the guy from the first movie but hey my names grindor dont forget that"

I cant belive orci wrote star trek was he writing ROTF in his sleep?
