This was already posted, and moved to the tf video game section. Although I feel that it is crazy enough to be considered normal News.

I get all my news from this magnificent Bastard and Yongyea

This isn't only a Transformers Game issue. this is a Video Game issue as a whole.

Microtransactions as a whole and loot boxes are a huge massive issue atm. and have been an issue for going on the last 8 years or so. It just wasn't really brought into the spotlight until the shady bullshit of Starwars Battlefront.

If I had that kind of money to waste I'd have bought a crap load of figures and other things not spend it on a game that will eventually vanish when there is a os update or the company gets tired of updating it.

I’m well aware of the predatory practices of loot boxes and their impact. It’s the fact that people like this who go beyond and waste such ludicrous amounts of money it that never fails to surprises me.

Why... WHY do you do this to yourselves? Mobile games and free to play games never equal up to the money they suck out of your wallet!

You'd be surprised, honestly. Thousands who do this truly cannot help themselves.

The issues are that basically these companies prey on you. They have a fundamental formula they use to emotionally and mentally break you down to create habitual and addictive behaviour and in essence, turn you into both a compulsive spender and a Gambler. The practice is called: "Whaling". This guy during a seminar, reveals Tons of all the tactics that are still put into practice to this very day on all games "Free-To-Play". Honestly, It's a true Eye Opener and yes, this most def pertains to the Topic:

That's why I stopped playing Earth Wars, as the game feels like it's actively keeping you from progressing with it's microtransactions. The game will steal alot of your patience, alot of your time, and alot of your money. Possibly all 3!
This shit is just disgusting, especially as young children are playing the game aimed at a popular children's franchise. This reminds me of Battlefront 2, how they made you grind for the more popular characters. Imagine a kid unknowingly spending their parents money, just to get Bumblebee.
Atleast in Forged to Fight your actively unlocking characters and growing more powerful, and the drop rates are a little more fair.
I hate when games have drop rates that's literally in 3-1% for more rare items.

The ESRB needs to look into games like these more.

Also Earth Wars literally make you wait entire weeks just to have your buildings built, they really want you to buy cybercoins just so the time can be more tolerable.

I don't remember anything specific and they wouldn't be my stories, but I'm thinking about the time I spent playing Transformers Legends and in communities for that game. Unfortunately, I'm sure that forgotten game has some scary numbers to it. It would have to if anyone got long-term successes out of it.

If you didn't spend enough for a single week you wouldn't win that event, with maybe top 10 spenders getting the best cards in tougher events. Huge time investment as well, that part I did anyway.

I maybe spent $10 so never got anywhere despite having spent all my time on it at one point. The community was great, I wish we'd all agreed to find a healthier game, but in retrospect I worry how much some people were spending and how close I got.

But yeah, business as usual for a certain type of game, as other people have already demonstrated.

Weird thing is the premium and character crystals are total garbage in terms of drop rate. Cybercoins can cut down some wait times on building construction and bot upgrades but still not worth it.

This game has virtually no reason to sink money into it as long you have an alliance that can finish events.

I like to pretend when he posts videos , he's speaking directly to me. Sometimes I see him in my sleep. It's kinda creepy. Especially the heavy breathing.
