I'm an artist(hobby, well, used to be), I love art, I try to find the "art" in everything. With that being said, something needs to be said about the packaging these figures come in. Some of it just really nice. Curious to hear some favorites from peeps. I'm really liking GC's Shuraking Dino's boxes, DX9 Chigurh is off the hook, and XTB Appolyon is just awesome.

The big art piece on PX's Genesis box is awesome. For an overall package I love those for Art Feather's VW Beetle releases, great presentation on them even if they use official stuff to achieve it.

Generation Toy boxes are really nice. Best single box art for me has to be Hasbro Titan Metroplex. 3p, Generation Toy takes the cake. FansToys has some nice ones too. Grenadier is pretty bomb.

I really like Badcube's appropriate sized boxes. So many of the figures I've bought came in boxes two or three times larger than they needed to be. Not too crazy about the artwork/style though.

I also really like the boxes with velco flaps so you can see the figure without opening the box. Not sure why I care about that since I open everything, but I do appreciate that feature none the less.

MMC's Feral Rex packaging remains to be some of my favorites. Nice, thick, considerable boxes. The cardboard is thick and the boxes feel like bricks. Love 'em.

the magnet closing on MMC boxes is really nice.

But man, its hard to beat the GT boxes so far. Real different experience than opening most toy.

I also remember liking Kronos packaging. It was my first third party figure so it's been awhile since I looked at it.

I really dig DX9's artwork, and appreciate the sturdiness of MMC's window boxes. The most convenient boxes are fansproject's function series. It's so nice to be able to slide a protective sleeve off and easily get into the box. The only tape is on the inner clamshell holding the figure.

For me MMC typically does the best designed boxes in terms of artwork/layout and such, but the ones that stand out in particular are the Hexatron Continuum and Grandus Hexatron.

I wish I had reviewed the packaging for these but I didn't do a Continuum review and I only had a production sample for Grandus and it didn't come with the box.

The external boxes for both are really nicely done artwork but once you get into the inner packages, you get this multi-layered, translucent packaging that is not only G1-like but really creative. It gives some cool 3D effects. The instructions also double as some two-sided artwork as well.

I loved the packaging for the "book style" Takara Transformers Collection reissues.

Though in my heart of hearts, while the art work isn't as impressive, the graphic design of the G1 boxes and anything reminiscent of that will always be my favorite just because of the "feel" they conveyed. And I miss that metallic shiny font.

The commemorative series of reissues from Hasbro arguably gave us the best of both worlds.
