I mean, headcanon is perfectly okay. But I just think that presenting headcanon as the basis of a point of that nature kinda doesn't make much sense, y'know? It's essentially arguing interpretations. That I think is when author/owner intent should come in as the "tiebreaker" of sorts, that's all. You do you though.

The cars reference way back is a reference to racing, such as Velocitron, thats my guess on the theme
the figures at that point aside from scourge should be simple to figure out if this is the case
cus personally for this sort of line id need the leader of that speed planet herself Override
after that maybe some racing style diaclone since that was what was deciphered, and i decided to check the last page and i saw someone mention hauler and burnout, so i can see those
maybe as a random one clampdown so we have all the lambros done
there's most likely some blurr repaint, considering how crazy the year's mainline is i wouldnt be surprised if it was a weird Armada blurr repaint from maybe punch since he's around, or even that pointblank listed

What if instead of Magna Convoy it was a Thunderclash without a trailer?

 

so far i think we can say we have at least 2 more and a sorta 3rd, them being diaclone burnout, g1 hauler, and g2 road rocket

 

There's been enough clues that support Burn Out and Hauler that they're pretty much confirmed at this point.

not entirely sure about this cause i know diddly squat about cars but gear shift = Gears?? if thats the right conclusion i wanna say red herring.. its either this or magna convoy i think the cybertron one is legit.

Then Hasbro dun goofed. They could easily make Machine Wars Optimus Prime the Optimus Prime for the year in the future and make the full Thunderclash his Selects/exclusive repaint. If Thunderclash was only released as a cab without his trailer/battlestation, Hasbro will miss a big opportunity.

 

also with all of my guesses or cracked ones i can give ideas on the mold reuses:
rid scourge = legacy laser prime obviously
Burnout = Skids
Hauler = Grapple (finally)

Guesses:
Blurr = Pointblank
Clampdown = Red alert (kingdom)
Override = weird one, but im thinking it might be a retool of ss86 hot rod, just to throw a spanner in the works rather than be blurr

Road rocket = might be prime arcee remolded slightly to be less feminine

 

And likely a Road Rocket (or less likely Road Pig).

 

I don't see how you'd get a good Road Rocket out of Prime Arcee. Why not just do Flamewar or Flare-up?

So, filtering in Impulse Drive's hints, we have:

• Burn-Out ("burnout")
• Hauler ("haul ass")
• Road Rocket ("road rip")
• Scourge ("scourge")
• Gears ("crab")

And we're waiting on confirmation of "stargazing" but it may be a UT character? Where did the Magna Convoy talk come from? Is he the other Voyager?

 

I think one of the bigger misconceptions some collectors make is that "kids won't care..." yes cool toys are cool toys, but kids know what's up. And I don't consider G1 fans a minority. WFC was a gamechanger and brought back (or in) old fans who weren't moved by anything since their childhood. It's smart business to retain them by continuing to build out that universe with the same aesthetic. I'm G1 biased, but feel this is fairly objective given the success of the line.

Now, if I was a TFP fan I might feel jilted a little but with G1-ification but if the character sells I believe that could be a gateway to more stylized versions accurate to the originals. There's plenty of time.
