Slash is a love and hate figure. I felt that he is being very left out by the first 4. So I decide to do some simple modding on my own to make him look better... I think someone did the knee swap thingy before. What I did: - Swap the thighs and place the spiky knees at the back instead - pop out the arms and push the shoulder pads down to act as rib cages, reinsert back the arms. - re-position the axes to act as the collars. And of course he can transform back to his raptor. The arms may pop off if trying to rotate it, it is caused by the rib cage that is in the way, but you cant really expect it to have a wide range of pose-ability with that arm of his either in his default transformation. :\ The objective is to make him as compact as possible, make him look like he is the stout one in the team.
nice job Now I have a reason to pick up slash...now can you do something about the loose ball joints he has? Again, awesome mod I never would have thought you could do this. Well done
Put a thin layer of clear nail polish on the balls of the joints. Be sure to let it dry at least 20 minutes or so, the longer the better. Of course if you find its still loose you can apply additional layers as needed. Just be careful not to over tighten, the polish wears off much faster if you apply to much. But really, thats no biggie. Just take apart the joint, wipe it down with a rag, and then reapply.
but how does the swap affect the transformation? do those thigh spikes still end up where they should be? or do you have to leg swap back everytime?
Don't you just have to make sure you rotate the waist and then rotate at the thighs when you transform him?
Depends on whether you swapped the lower legs or the thighs out, but if you swapped thighs so the front details match up down the thigh in bot mode, it has to be switched back to transform. I just cut off and sanded away the feather things on mine when figured that out.
Thanks! Yes, you are able to transform it to Raptor mode, the only thing when transforming from this form is you need to ONLY pop out the arms for the rib cage to come out. Here are the pictures Spiky knees are not on top now, but on the bottom.
Oh, I didn't realize you were hiding the feathers in both modes... Seems like in that case might as well just cut them off.
With the feather bits on the legs reversed, it seems you cant fully straighten out the Dino mode anymore, I guess that's the trade off???
