I like the transformers prime line ,and i told my self when it first came out I would get ever in show character, but i have ran in to a dilemma this line is making that difficult with the latest arms micron stuff, Cylas Breakdown Nemesis Prime and Smokescreen, being as there expensive repaints ,for the People who collect prime toys are you guys getting these figures and do you consider the orion pax repaint as something in show( I might get the entertainment pack and put a decepticon sticker on him) or are you guys holding off on them?

 

I'm getting Silas, but that's because I LOVE the Breakdown mold.

The Orion pax repaint is the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

 

I loved the Prime figures when the line was first launched. However my interest has gradually waned, I was planning to pick up AM Skywarp and Thundercracker but that plan got shelved, pardon the pun.
I've stopped collecting Prime altogether now. Too many non show characters and the Smokescreen repaint was a big disappointment.

 

Iv collected all the main show characters except for smokescreen ( I'm waiting to hopefully be surprised with a Hasbro version ). Iv skipped all the one show only characters such as Cliffjumper, Skyquake, Cylus Breakdown, an Unicron. Iv got everyone else tho including troop builders.

Also, Nemis Prime isn't close Enough to screen accuracy for me to warrant my money. As for Orian, I dislike that mold to much to want to own it.

 

I am not getting any of those, or Gaia Unicron. The only imports I have gotten are regular Breakdown and Jet Vehicon. Silas Breakdown was too short-lived as was Nemesis Prime, not too mention expensive, and I am trying to make my own Smokescreen by mashing some figures together and painting them. I don't understand the point of the Orion Pax figure.

 

I've got Smokescreen, I'm getting Silas because he's awesome and a remold of an awesome toy. I am getting Nemesis as well, because I never got that version of Optimus Prime and the deco looks fantastic to me (never mind the inaccuracy)

 

I see no reason to get CyLAS Breakdown if you have the first Breakdown. I don't see Nemesis being important, but I'm getting him as a TFP-ified Motormaster, I say hold off on Smokescreen, he'll probably be available for a while, and we may get a Hasbro release under Beast Hunters, if the Cyberverse one is any indication. No reason to get Orion either, any Voyager Optimus absolutely suffices.

Of those, Nemesis is the only one that's probably better for your idea, Smokescreen as a strong possibility, but I'd say wait just a few months longer if you're willing. Scrap CyLAS Breakdown and Orion, definitely.

 

You've probably missed all the Allspark Power repaints.  

 

My general rule is to buy a figure that I find interesting. Being on the show or not is not important at all for me.


For example I love Dead End (repaint of Wheeljack) more than original figure so I bought him. He's fantastic and I couldn't care less that he wasn't on the show.



Weather you'll get Breakdown Nemesis Prime and Smokescreen it will be your choice based on your interest for those figures.

My only advice for you is to stay away from Orion, that is a crap figure to begin with, let alone this new version.

 

Personally I think getting the Cylus Breakdown is a good thing. It's got some really fun retools to it and the color scheme is different enough for me to justify a purchase.

Smokescreen is completely up to you. I think we would have seen a mock up or something if he was getting his own mold. That's a gamble IMO.

Orion Pax ... save your money. Slap a Decepticon symbol on a deluxe Prime or something.

 

I'd say skip orion and smokescreen and buy more vehicons/ jet vehicons! That's what I'm doing after christmas!  

 

I'm staying away from all the arms micron stuff. none of it is in the show so none of it is a priority.  

I've been stayign away from all of Takara's stuff.

 

I have AM Breakdown and he's awesome. One of my favorite molds from the whole line. I'm getting Cylasdown because of the redeco (chrome grill!) and think the colors look great on the mold. AM Breakdown I'll probably rotate with Cylasdown between my main TFP Con display and the anti-Wreckers team I have going (consisting mostly of non-show character figs like RiD Dead End).

Universe Dragstrip looks pretty good in a TFP collection too so he'll be going in there for a Stunticons subgroup (along with Breakdown, Dead End, and AM Wildrider). I'm hoping either Hasbro or Takara does a black/purple Motormaster repaint using the Ultra Magnus mold so I can have a complete Stunticons display (a Radicons made a custom MM using UM as a base and it looked great).

Smokescreen is the best representation we'll be getting for the interim, so he's bought to complete the Bot cast. I don't think he looks bad at all with his stickers and micron plugged into his back (to help fill in the gap and give him faux door wings).

I surmise my spending on the TFP line will slow a bit with Beast Hunters outside of on-show Predacon characters like Predaking, and filling holes from Cyberverse (Smokescreen and Airachnid).

 

Smokescreen - Yes! Cylas Breakdown Nemesis Prime - No. (maybe had they been in more than 1 episode each)

 

Same here. Unless Prime is different from the current mold, I'm passing on everything but Predaking and Lazerback.

I'm not sure I understand this. If you stay away from Takara stuff you won't have Breakdown or Jet Vehicons, both of whom have been featured somewhat prominantly in the show.  

 

I got all of those toys that you mentioned. Eh, TBH, mostly because I am a TF: Prime uber collector... price isn't an issue because I get my Voyagers at $40 a pop from my local hobby shop here in Malaysia. Plus, besides not paying for shipping, they are also abundant in stock. Don't hate me, ok?      

 

Well, I recently got Orion Pax and I love it. I'm actually trying to collect all the AM releases, even the individual Arms Microns...

And another factor is just like [Wing_Saber-X], TFP AM are abundant in our country and in pretty reasonable prices, e.g., Orion Pax, got it for the equivalent of less than US$39 at current exchange rates.

 

That sublime had some great molds. (Landmine, Stockade...)

 

As much as I like the Prime toy line I really don't have that many figures. That's mostly due to me liking the AM stuff more then the domestic releases.

As for your question I'm skipping Cylas-down. Didn't care for the character and would much rather have breakdown instead. The only thing of interest would be his micron. Even then I'm hoping for a single or even weapon pack release. Smokescreen is also a skip since I don't really care for it. It's a nice head sculpt, but knock out's body just doesn't really work for me. The only one I'm really considering is Nemesis Prime even though he's nowhere near show accurate. I'll really only get him because I love me my evil primes and if I can find him for a decent price.

Orion I just say skip him get the entertainment pack and baro 2. There's really not enough to warrant spending that much on a deluxe that's already readily available. Or if you really want an orion get the BBTS Dark energon prime and a regular prime and swap heads.
