I'm another guy who is glad he waited for the Hasbro version.

Don't get me wrong, I could have liked the sharp and pointy teeth, and I for one, really liked the waiter set. But I just couldn't justify dropping the cash for the Takara version.

This Hasbro version looks like it's on par though. I actually prefer it over the Takara version, from what I can see. Except for the white and red stripes. Are those stickered or painted? I guess in a worst case scenario, I can always just remove 'em if they really bother me. Otherwise, darker thighs and a little more gold? Sounds good to me!

I just hope he'll be widely available in my country at a more affordable price.

Tinting Future with various dyes is the best "transparent paint" there is, bar none. Most transparent paints I've ever found are thick, sticky, and dry unevenly no matter how careful you are. And they often don't mix with Future well. But taking Future and adding some ink, or food color, or I'd guess even the reservoir from a Sharpie, will often lead to a VERY nice finish.

My first thought upon seeing the clear sword was "what am I going to add to my Future to get orange?"

Also--I like the new stripes. They were among the more distinctive markings on the toy, and often appear in artwork. Though the white seems kind of pointless---having just the red bits would have looked better, and closer to the toy.

Other than the dulled teeth, I think I like the Hasbro version better. This will be bought on sight :thumbs2:

I would have been happy with either version. I'm just saving a big chunk of money now waiting for the Hasbro version.

Quite awesome! I plan on getting him as soon as I can, I like it all. Sure I'd have prefered the sharper teeth and claws, but I can easily live with that for the crown and far lower pricepoint.

Looks good. Wonder if it will also get the price drop that Skywarp got.

Does anyone know when it'll be released? I know we don't have a fixed date, but do you guys think it's in the summer or fall? I might change addresses in the fall, and I was hoping to plan my expenditures accordingly. Thanks.

Don't have the Takara one, but it looks fine to me. If there was no price difference between the two, I'd go with sharp-tooth Grimlock, but seeing as there is I'll gladly go with the cheaper rounded-tooth version.

Agreed, they really stand out in a bad way. Of course it'll be a simple matter of peeling them off.

Already have the Tak-Tom version and have a fan-made Crown, but I may buy this Grimlock to keep in robot mode. I'll wait for a sale.

Do want, unless the scalpers make it just as expensive to get as the Takara version.

If I'm not mistaken, Grim is a TRU(Toys R Us)exclusive. Argos would be Walmart over here in the US right?

The changes to the toy make me feel a little better that I went ahead and impulse-bought the Takara version haha.
