Was the Takara version of Grimlock's head black? Hasbro's looks gray. I'm not really happy about Hasbro's changes. I may spend the extra money on Takara's version.

 

As much as I would rather have the Takara version, I will save my money, and get the TRU Hasbro version.

I really hope that there aren't people out there counting on an eventual clearance price of $20-$30, because that just isn't going to happen.

I honestly like the Takara version better, but at roughly half the price I wouldn't complain too much about the Hasbro version. It's a lot more affordable for some people to buy multiples for bashing together some more Dinobots.

 

Looks pretty darn good -- I was expecting more compromises.

Those red/white dino thighs though. Agh!

 

Looks to me like he may be packaged in beast mode, since that's where his instructions start. I have the first release takara, so it's an easy pass for me, but it looks great.

 

How long before razor-sharp repro teeth are available?  

 

The orange sword is from the special edition repaint of MP Grimlock, so the white one is for the US release.

 

Wish they could have taken better/more pictures of robot mode. I can't tell if the head is black or gray due to the flash. Also, can the eyes be changed to blue? This guy should have done more side-by-side photos of the Grimlocks.

 

None of the pictures are working for me, must be blocked here at work. If not that much has changed I will my second MP Grimlock. Hoping that Thundercracker is next.

 

Agreed, however I think Grimlock should sell well. TRU puts nothing on clearance......

 

as much i am angry about takra statment that there never plan on rereleasing mp grimlock to the us or as repaint im gladi bought takara version what shell is going on with hasbro making the teeth less pointy, tail i dont see much a differnce sword slitly smaller dinmode claws do look like could be rounded off at the tip.

if hasbro that parnoid about sharp objects on there transfromers prime stacks example they should not make role playing swods, axes to begin with there more dangerous than objects on transformers.

Cool, the Hasbro one is more then good enough, can't wait to finally get this bad boy.

The last picture in the post clearly shows the option to change the eye color.

 

I'm thinkin the Hasbro onecomes with the clear sword. I'd much rather have it be the orange one, but whatever. I can't wait for this guy to come out.

 

The Takara version had the clear sword, so the orange-tinted sword must come with Hasbro Grimlock.

 

The standard Takara release was the clear one. The King Grimlock repaint had the orange one. Since that one also comes with the crown, and the fact I believe the comparison was with the regular Takara release, I'm thinking the orange one is the one for the US release.

 

 

The teeth don't bother me.

Any chance at getting this toy USA retail and I'm gonna over look problems like the teeth and tail.
