Exactly. If they transform into cars, where are the car parts?!

They look great, but that's going to bug the heck out of me.

They look very dynamic. They'll look great on screen.
I miss boob-windows on ol' Primy, but I guess he can cover up after saving the Earth in the last movie.

Given your avatar, I'm surprised you don't like Prime at least.

    hmmm maybe?

Now, I may be WAAAY off but..... What if this is a "trick" not a treat? What if Tunakaan or someone with the same talents as he did this? What if it was made to look legit? I say I like it BUT, its definitely going in a whole new direction. Very Gundamish. Only time will tell. Oh, and did I say " Please don't be a shell-former?"

These more simplistic designs should allow the Transformers to have more screen time and be in the movie way more than previous movies. Hopefully. (due to cost of rendering probably being a lot less and animation probably being a lot easier to do than using a rig with a million parts.. etc etc..) they actually look MANAGEABLE from an animation standpoint now.

Fingers crossed that they will get more screen time and therefore more personality shown.

Assuming these are the early renders, I've gotta say, these look excellent!

It's very Transformers: Prime, at least on Optimus. He's still complex enough to be interesting, but not too complex to be messy. And the samurai influence is subtle, but definitely adds a lot to the look. Overall, Prime looks excellent! I know some minor tweaks are bound to be made, but if he showed up exactly like this in the movie, I'd be proud.

As for Bumblebee...he doesn't look that bad, either. It reminds me of the Halo 4 armor designs for some reason, particularly the Venator armor...lots of sharp edges and harsh lines, but not too much. It seems like they found their niche here with the complexity, but I'll withhold full judgement until the entire design is released.

Honestly, I'm really only disappointed in Grimlock. Not that his design is bad, but...it looks too sleek for a T-Rex. Fall of Cybertron had his design down-simple, brutish, heavy design for the face. FoC Grimmy looked PISSED. ALL THE TIME. But the movie version looks less like a force of destruction and chaos, and more like a sleek efficient predator. Not that that's bad (though it would have fit a raptor better), but I just would've preferred a big, beefy, destroy everything Grimlock.

Overall, I'm not finding much to hate here. Can't wait for the movie!

i think that this is how grimlock will look like. and by seeing the renders, it looks really similar.

Can't say I agree with you on Grimlock.

Speaking for me personally, this is probably my favorite Grimlock dino design ever. It just looks metal as hell, and almost demonic/dragon-ish, which I fucking LOVE. FOC Grimlock's dino mode has always looked kinda boring to me, especially with its generic, blocky dino mode head.

But hey, different strokes and all that.

Well, here's the answer to why the Prime toy sucks balls. As impossible as the previous transformation was, this transformation is just that much more impossibler. There is NOTHING on that robot to build a truck out of...

    Still looks kinda' cool.

I love these designs, and hope that the new leader figure only looks as bad as it does because the CG design had yet to be finalized. Hopefully we'll get a better looking voyager figure. Even if the design looses a little sleekness, it seems doable. I came up with a scheme in my head that would work reasonably well.

Alternatively, Hasbro could be banking on their being another trilogy and is releasing a less accurate Leader Prime ala TF1 Prime. Then when the sequel comes out the new and improved Leader Prime will sell like hot cakes.

If this is legit, I'm liking the new designs (although I thought the OP toy preview was pretty disappointing - I actually thought it was a voyager...). A lot less busy and mish-mashy than the previous movie designs. I can actually tell body parts apart! Amazing!

I wouldn't go as far seeing how nothing can top Roche's Grimlock but it is pretty damn good :p

Very very sweet!! Loving the new looks. But it also goes to show you, the new toys will all be shellformers.

Touche, but those beards don't look like a hairy (human) lumberjack beard. What I think he was getting at was that those two styles don't seem to mix. That is where my Bay comment is coming from.
