Can you post a link please.
Part of me feels like it could be something from either the next cartoon series or perhaps from a video game since the game folks also come up with some interesting design ideas.
I guess it could perhaps be related to the live action movies but it would mean they weren't kidding about design changes because it seems like the sleek and armored fans had kind of been ignored for three films. But hey who knows maybe they really did decide to cut back on the number of parts per bot so we could get more robot goodness per film.
No it's the second style guide document from Hasbro that has been updated adding renders and probably characters. The document I've seen is the same cover, but says "Phase One."
These are 100% real licensing artwork from Hasbro.
Alright, I'm down with it
It's on the front page.
Also if you look in the bottom right corner there seems to be a T. Rex hand under the sand
They're for product packaging and posters and stuff.
Age of Robots was the working title I assume. Could mean they try to wipe out humans? Or could mean it's what the humans call this new era with the revelations of robot aliens actually existing? (kinda like how we have the stone age, bronze age, etc)
Transforms from truck to smooth & rounded armored knight and back ... impossibly.
I will give 'em credit for the design looking more solid and cohesive in robot mode - reminds me of the "Prime" design style more now. I do wish for more red in the upper torso though.
With the preponderance of blue and the knightly accoutrements, This feels more like (Animated-inspired) Sentinel Prime to me.
I'm not positive if these are movie res-modals, pre-models, or super-models...
But I can tell you one thing; If the movie toys end up looking anything like these images, these will be the first movie figures I buy!
P l e a s e!!!!
Please don't let the figure (toy) be a shell-former!Please don't let the figure (toy) be a shell-former!Please don't let the figure (toy) be a shell-former!Please don't let the figure (toy) be a shell-former!Please don't let the figure (toy) be a shell-former!
looks like there going for a more prime continuity styled aesthetic
and optimus looks like he has samurai skirt armour
.....uh...I actually like these movie designs.......Well played Michael Bay, well played... Maybe you did get something from public/fan opinion after all. It was widely discussed and begrudged that the designs were "too busy" and insect like... and just messy looking. People didn't lie the designs. This has been widely agreed upon since the first movie... so...
These designs are better than the previous ones. They have distinct varying shapes and contrasts, they have limited detail to the point where it is recognizably SOMETHING, but still detailed enough to be believable, and above all they have stayed true (albeit updated of course) to the original character. One minor picky gripe for me is, it'd still like to see more recognizable truck bits in the robot mode.... incorporating the vehicle and using it wisely in the robot mode is sort of a transformers staple.....
Okay- now don't fuck up the writing/acting and you might have a quality transformers movie on your hands. (for the first time ever.)
Also these more simplistic designs should allow the Transformer to have more screen time and be in the movie way more than previous movies. Hopefully.
I like that the designs are the total opposite of what we got before. The last 3 movies were "what would Transformers look like in the real world" and now we just have fantastical designs.
Okay, I love these designs but I'm confused. If they're going for a more alien/Cybertronian look then why does that one pole-head have a beard?
not a fan of samurai prime.
Sure it looks cool and like a gundam in almost every way but just not an optimus prime I want to know sorry.
Bee doesnt look bad but I would have rather him go more humble than once again more baddass more weaponized.
Grimlock i would be happy with while they did go crazy on the teeth and bad ass look its way better than getting something that isnt him at all. Like what they did with devastator.
Grimlock will be my focal point for part 4 and probably for most people.
Not really a fan, only one I kind of like is grimlock, but to be honest I've mostly disliked movie designs. Looks like I can save money again by not buying new movie figures.
1.) These do NOT look like Transformers to me.
2.) These actually look pretty damn cool though.
I'm not a fan of the TF Prime designs so whilst I think the artwork here is awesome, I'm not sure I like it. Optimus, anyway. Too humanoid looking. I think it's the chest elements mainly.
If this is legit, I also see major problems with an accurate toy. This guy bears absolutely no resemblance to a truck.
Optimus reminds me of the first Prima design... Grimlock looks awesome!! What is that logo they are in??
