Well the last episode of Transformers suggested a Solus Prime character. And like Smurfette, she appears to be the only female Prime of the 13 and the only one with hair.

Ok, I'll give her some credit. She has a brain at least and makes things. But still. Why just one female or female-looking Prime in a sea of very masculine looking ones? This is rather old and cliche. Can't you Transformers creators come up with something more progressive and interesting than this? After all, you stated you wanted to have an even balance between male and female influence on this show.

This is not the place to be crying out for "FEMALE EMPOWERMENT".

    EDIT:
Also, for hair. I'm pretty sure I saw a beard or two.

"Influence" does not mean "body count". In case you weren't aware, you should look up the Celtic goddess "Brigid".

    huh...
i've never even paid much attention to the lack of female transformers characters. i suppose it never really mattered enough. i always enjoyed it for what it was. i think you're thinking about this way too hard, and letting it getting in the way of your transformers experience, just sayin'...

Hair on head. Solus Prime, like Smurfette, in addition to being the only "female", is the only one with a huge crop of long hair on her head.

I'm not crying out "Female Empowerment". I'm talking about how silly it looks to have only one "female-looking" Prime. Why not have at least a third of the Primes a little more feminime-looking? They don't have to be "female", just more feminine looking. Is the male look such a default that it's the superior ideal? Oh I forget, the show's target audience, boys, couldn't handle that. Ok, then why make any of them female at all if Hasbro only cares about $$$$ from toy sales? Oh, to appease the feminists and maybe attract the very few girls and women who are watching the show to give it just a slight spike in ratings? Why not make them all male? Hell, what do we need Arcee for? Why not make a male bike-former under another name. After all, it's all about toy sales and $$$$. The hell with political correctness. All Hasbro cares about is $$$$.

Arcee doesn't have long hair, but the Dreads and Topspin did. =|

You want more "feminine-looking" but don't have to be female...do tell what you're hoping for. Do you also believe in "masculine-looking" female transformers? I'm gonna doubt you'd be too interested in Elita-One having Que's mustache. If you really wanna look at it: Knock Out's existence, Bumblebee's a blonde, Ratchet's a nurse, Optimus has a hell of a small waist with a big chest, and Bulkhead is an HDB (that's "Heavy-Duty Beauty" to you). The general standard for "warrior", throughout world history, isn't "boobs", same for the standard for "wetnurse" isn't "phallus".

All you're doing, what you've been doing, what many TFWers associate the username 'Spunky' with, is crying out "female empowerment". I'm willing to bet a fair enough amount that's the vast majority of what you're gonna continue to do.

Not to sure why TC is being met with hostility. They have a point; having the 13 Primes each represent some aspect of Transformers, and one of them representing females means that the masculine is the default, and feminine the deviant. Hardly a good message, especially in modern media.

I believe each of the 13 is one of the possible templates for TFs. The reason only 1 is female is to explain why there are so few. TFs have a 1:13 chance of being Female.

Now as for gender disparity, they're robots! Who gives a damn? Seriously we have Arcee, the best female character from TF series(and any boy toyline show) and people still whine about equality. Just concentrate on how far we've come rather than how far we have to go.

^ that!!!! specifically the first part. There are few female TFs in the series, so it makes sense that in the original 13, there arent that many-they opped to go with one.

Which also means she wields the Magnus Hammer.

I think Prime is doing pretty good so far.

He/she is not and there are legitimate reasons to be annoyed by this problem, or with how others respond to it in unreasonable ways.

Aside from the Fallen, Prima, Vector Prime, Alpha Trion, Nexus Prime, Liege Maximo and Solus Prime, I'm not actually sure about the gender of the rest of the 13. There may be more females amongst their ranks.

And remember Stryka doesn't have the basic female shape either.

I hope that's the case. I can see the one to the left of sword-guy (Prima?) being female, for one.

At Botcon 2011 Hasbro gave more details on where they want to take the thirteen. Essentially they embody all future permutations of transformers. One of them is the origin of the decepticons, 1 is a combiner, 1 is a mini-con, and 1 is a fembot. Solus Prime is that first fembot.

I think the dude left of Prima is Liege Maximo.

He has horns and appears greenish in another picture. Although I'd be all for a female Maximo. That would mean there are two female Thirteen, one good and the other evil. It also means both genders have an evil member.

I still don't understand what you're complaining about. That they have a female character thrown into the mix? Why would that be so bad? Is it because you get the feeling that it's simply a token female character? Why would you complain about such a trivial aspect of the show? I just hate it when people like you complain for no good reason and nit-pick a show to death.
