Customs: Solidworks ball joints

    I've been designing this absolutely minuscule Metroplex, and after two test prints, I can't get the waist ball joint to work properly. Does anyone here have experience making ball joints like the one pictured in Solidworks? I can't add a slot through the entire waist and socket or else it'll look awful.     Hmmm. Not 100% sure here. It'll be the tolerances if it doesn't fit. You could change the diameter of the sketch cut by maybe .001. It might be more, I have no experience with this mind of thing. But, as I recently got solidworks, how did you do the ball joint in the legs and arms?
