With the Wal-mart deluxe movie exclusives finally out, and knowing how quick all of the movie related bots seem to fly off the shelves, does anyone else feel it's necessary to have another Wal-mart Starscream idea of beat the scalpers buy for fans idea? It's a well known fact that Wal-mart sucks in distribution of their exclusives, so would this method be a good idea again for those unable to find them?

If I were you I would set something up in your NY sighting thread, using PM's between eachother.

That is the way to go. We did this here in Minnesota, and everyone who posted that they wanted one got one.

Well I know I want a set of the wal mart repaints. But its not like they plan on bad distribution. I just think managers don't order the huge packages like classics devastator, and masterpiece starscream in high quantities if at all because they are a gamble. Where as being that the movie deluxes sell really well, I think there is going to be a positive outpouring of this exclusive.

The demand is present even for the casual toy consumer.

That whole 'buy every Starscream to keep it from scalpers' things was one of the worst things ever for TF fans. Not only did it keep Starscream from scalpers but denied everyone else the chance to own one. From kids to other collectors who happen to not know you/your group. I'd be pissed as hell if a bunch of fans bought up everything to only distribute them to a select few people. I'm pretty sure you'd be pissed if you could never get something due to a people buying all of them and just giving it to 'fans' which won't include you if you don't know them.

All ordering is controlled by the Corporate Office and the Point of Sale System. Managers in each department can adjust orders but for the most part, when new items come in is completely decided by Corporate HQ and what they decide "High Volume" stores are. The stores that sell the most get the new stuff first.

I had pretty much free reign of the SS's at my local store, and its a high volume store for figs. They ended up dropping them to thirty and then someone bought all of em in one whack. I am not letting that happen again, if I have to get every one of those exclusives myself by the dozen.
