According to G1 season 2 animated episode "War Dawn" Alpha re-constructed Orion Pax to be Optimus Prime and his girlfriend, Ariel, into Elita-1.
But what about Dion that also got shot by Megatron ?
I think that Alpha trion turned him into IronHide.
What is your opinion ?

 

I'm pretty sure that Alpha Trion made Dion into random household appliances. A toaster, a lamp, maybe a mailbox.

DW hinted Dion was Ultra Magnus, other people have said he might have become Iornhide I personally go with the Ultra Magnus idea at the moment, only way we'll know for sure is if we hear some thing from hasbro.

 

I always preferred the Ironhide arguement. The names are similar, for what it is worth (Dion - Iron), plus Ironhide is meant to be a verteran who has known Prime for an awful long time. They go way back, apparently. So that is my take on it.

 

I also prefer Ironhide. Ultra Magnus may sound good in retrospect, but the character hadn't been created when War Dawn originally aired. Op and Ironhide have always been close friends. Plus it seems from the episode that Ironhide was supposed to have been there for the events the Aerialbots witnessed in the past. Unlike Ratchet, Ironhide lived through those events where as Ratchet was too young to have been created then. At least, in all of my fanfics Ironhide was Dion.

 

I'm in the Ironhide boat. Prime and Ironhide go WAAAAY back. If you are going to go on a mission you will want your closest ally with you at all times. Ironhide was such an ally. Prime left Magnus's ass back on cybertron. Some best friend that is..

 

I kind of like the idea of Ironhide now that I hear it. I like the whole family POV of it being Magnus... but here's a fan fic thought... What if Ironhide was made from Dion and Magnus was made to be back up of Prime incase there was a failure?

 

I like that thought, because some of Ultra Magnus' behaviours in the G1 anime kind of hint at that. But if Ultra Magnus WAS Prime's backup why wasn't he the chosen one?

 

Well if you go by color schemes Dion became Huffer.

Or perhaps Dion never survived to make the trip with Prime to Earth

Ultra Magnus sounds good to me, he's prime's right hand man, shoot, Prime left him in charge of the Autobot forces on Cybertron.

I always assumed Dion became Kup. Both are blue.

But now that I think about it, Kup has always been shown to be older than everyone, even Prime. Ironhide eh? Hmm.

 

In one episode involving Daniel it is revealed that Ultra Magnus does not know when h was created.

In the female Autobot ep with Elita-1. I would seem that Optimus Prime does not remember Alpha Trion as his creator.

If indeed UM is Dion and Prime does not remember who built him. Alpha Trion could have manipulated the memories of those injured robots in War Dawn.

 

I thought they built Ironhide out of one of Primes old crotch pieces. Ah well.
