Who gave Transformers toys or merchandise as gifts this holiday season? I gave the following:

My oldest (boy, 7): Generations Waspinator, CW Chop Shop
My middle (boy, 5): Generations Nightbeat, CW Pipes (blue is his favorite color)
My youngest (girl, 3): AoE One-Step Slash
My neice (8): CW Stripes
Family friend (boy, 8): CW Onslaught
Family Friend (boy, 4): CW Sky Lynx

So what about you? Did any kids (or adults for that matter) on your list receive Transformers from you?

 

Among other things, yeah. A couple CW limbs for my younger brother, a TR Voyager & Deluxe for two separate cousins & a bunch of RID Legions (plus a whole bunch of other stuff) for the Salvation Army.

 

I gave my niece a Titans Return Hot Rod she'd taken a shine to   She'd already received 3 gifts from us to open at Xmas but since she couldn't put Hot Rod down, I told her she could have him also.

No TFs for the Salvation Army this year, although I have done that in the past and they may get some next year -- this year it was Power Rangers Dino Charge toys which went into the Toys For Tots collection.

 

Gave TR Chromedome and whatever Weirdwolf is called to my son (5). He isn't really into transformers, but when I was a kid the "masters" were the coolest things ever and I figured he would like the headmaster bit which he seems to 

 

I may be in the same boat with my middle one, he really seems drawn towards my TR Chromedome. So he may get him at some point!

Sounds great, my boys may get a *Master figure and a Titan Master pack for their birthdays (April and May). I was concerned about the small Masters, but they have managed to hold onto both of Scoop's Targetmasters (they have a special little cubby hole in their toy room where they store them!) so we'll give it a try!

 

I gave TF gifts to myself this Christmas. A bunch of them. Does that count?

 

It's that magical time of year, so why not!  

 

This is so true, my daughter loves the Titan Master gimmick. The buggers end up everywhere. I could see immediately my niece, with virtually zero TF exposure so far, immediately took to the concept. Firedrive was in and out of Hot Rod's cockpit.

That last sentence troubles me.

I vividly remember being taken to TRU as a child and my grandfather letting me pick one figure/set and it could be anything. It came down to a Devastator giftset vs Doubledealer. I thought devastator and his combining gimmick was amazing and knew it may be my only chance to own him (never did get him), but the two little guys that came with Doubledealer won the day. I know many feel like masters were too much of a gimmick and Transforming alone is enough, but as far as enjoyment as a kid, it really adds a layer of imaginative/narrative fun.

 

i got my nephew (3 years old) 2 Rescue Bots and a random not transforming Movie Optimus Prime figure that someone sent me
I got Niece (10 years old who loves transformers) RID Sideswipe and RID Grimlock and Energon Doomlock

 

just for toys for tots.

 

No TFs to the kids in the family this year, nephew (8) and girlfriends sons (10, 11) all got Star Wars toys. I just don't see giving them Titans Returns since I figured they would lose the heads quickly.

 

Got my nephew(17) a g2 tr bruticus. Was looking for fort max for him but that was all I found. Gave him pmop also.
