At what point did every story have to have a moral?

Also, there seems to be a lot of confusion in this thread. "Moral of the story" doesn't have anything to do with "having morals." "Moral of the story" means the same thing as "lesson of the story."

AoE was a simple "good VS. evil" story, just like almost all TF stories, with a focus on family loyalty and human nature.

That is a much fairer and accurate way of looking at it. I admit it was probably being a little bit unfair and maybe looking for moral problems.

If there is one thing about movie Optimus's morals it his instant reaction to nearly anything he could perceive as an enemy or in some cases someone who disagrees with being to murder them. His creators might not have known how much of a murder happy douche lockdown was and simply asked him for reasons of galactic peace go to planets damaged by the autobot/deception war and remove the cybertronians which I think most of us would agree was a good thing given all the death for both species . I remember a line in it were he said something along the lines of I swore i would never kill a human but whoever is responsible for this will die . This sums up pretty much everything wrong with this Optimus I'm sure most other versions would try and understand the motives their enemies and maybe a peaceful resolution rather than instantly going all mortal kombat character
