What's your gut feeling on Netflix's War For Cybertron?

Like, are you bothered by the lack of news? Worried that it'll never happen?

Maybe you always enjoy a TF cartoon. Are you highly anticipating this one?

I find it incredibly strange that an origin story announced in February 19 for a platform as big as Netflix doesn't have any real teasers, never mind hype.

I'm fully expecting it to arrive much later in the year if at all. I mean it's toyline is going great guns and where is it? Lol. Actually wondering if Hasbro want it or something similar as part of the inevitable media juggernaut that the E1 purchase will become. Are they dragging their heels? Maybe they don't wanna find themselves in Marvel's position with the Netflix contracts that hobbled the TV shows? Just spit-balling.

It could be so good - the origin story with great visuals and a decent script for once (this is Netflix after all), allowing for dynamic transformations and action. I'm thinking the opening of the Bumblebee movie but more sustainable!

Purely in my terms, if I'm lucky it would be good enough to see the WFC toys continue as a line and not fall to this '3 chapters is good because kids move on'.

But anyway, what are you expecting?

My prediction: it's going to happen, but it's going to be bad. The Prime Wars series did not give me much hope.

with the toy line moving along faster than production on the cartoon, i have a feeling the cartoon will get cancelled.

Fair enough, but I want to add the toy angle on this board if possible. I find it interesting that we're in the second chapter but the show is... a no-show.

It’s probably gonna suck and come out way too late to increase sales.

I want it to be good, but it’s really not likely especially after looking at anything we’ve gotten recently .

It’s so strange that they’ve forgotten how to time shows properly. Seems so simple to make a show and release it a couple months earlier than the toys to build up hype with kids and other fans. Why would you release a siege show after the siege toyline is already off the shelves?

Highly unlikely, Transformers has always been toys first.

It’s probably going to be released around part 3 of the toyline trilogy, be mediocre as all hell and feature toys you can’t buy in stores anymore.
It’s also been in development long enough with complete radio silence that like the ‘in development but completely silent’ transformers game it’s probably going to be quietly cancelled after another year or so.

Yup, even for the older collector that's a screw-up.

I know, but WFC seems to be a well-received line, and Cyberverse is all over the place in the toys to show schedule game. But anyway, I don't care how it happens, I just want WFC to continue for the toys!

I trust rooster teeth to produce a good show. My fear is the actual cancellation.

It used to be complete new takes up until cyberverse and from then it’s been G1. Plus G1 never fully left retail since the creation of classics.

its been announced to have a july release date, dont have an exact quote but it was mentioned at one of the summer cons. also was it branded as a siege show or a wfc show? might seem like semantics, but theres a difference.

I'm the exact opposite, I don't trust rooster teeth, and if it's bad, it will go on for too long. A few months ago they had a round of layoffs.

I think the line is doing well enough to keep going regardless of whether the cartoon materializes or not. CHUG has never really needed media support to be successful. Thus far it's had a very bad web series. And the comics, which (as an industry) are so niche these days that it probably had little influence on toy sales.

WFC isn't going anywhere with or without media support.

I think it's gonna be quietly canned, be a perfectly fine and solid show, or will be an absolutely hilarious ordeal of incompetence on the part of the creators.

The 3 shows they have going on now aren’t terrible though; rwby, camp camp, and gen:lock. I mean to each their own. You don’t like their work, I’m not gonna change your mind. I do think that they will do a better job than machinima did though.
