Hence no school and now Im at home. Im gonna go to my school and take pictures I heard some things are funny. some teachers already set up camp. Article link http://news.yahoo.com/s/cpress/20060307/ca_pr_on_na/ont_college_strike I think a few of us in this board have this to say "We are so screwed" and "YIPEE NO SCHOOL" Its a weird sitation....Im kinda thankful because I needed an extencion for a math assignament.
Do you pay for college? If you do I would be very pissed off. You are paying so these jerkstains can go on strike. I would love to see everyone of those losers get fired.
Yeah, if you're paying for school I'd definately look into getting some sort of refund for the classes missed. You should get what you're paying for.
The ability to go on strike is a key freedom. Without that last-ditch option, the ruling class would be able to completely dominate the proletariat and- oh shit, I'm a Commie. Oh well, at least I'm in the right place.
Well so far dont have a clue on whats the supposed Plan of action of the College Im .Hence Im also going to ask "what the hell is going on" If strike goes for more than 15 office days(3 weeks) semester is lost and have to start the semester again....and If it comes to that I and my my maternal unit(who goes to another college)will need a refund or a "freebie semester". if it goes in 3 weeks it just means I would go to summer on june..... anyways Im off to college Ill take some pictures of the place
Well that means my college is on strike right now aswell. I am on spring break though so hopefully it won't affect me that much.
If that happened at my college I would be down there during my class time yelling and cursing at all the faculty. They are just screwing up their money situation they are wasting your money and your time.
Yeah, i really wish everyone would say what the plan of action is when the strike is over. And if it means going during the summer, i'm screwed, i gotta go outta town to work. but if its for a few days i wouldn't mind the break.
My initial thought was...how come my community college teachers never went on strike. 'Cause I know they weren't offered no max salary of $94K ($80K+ US).
yeah I wish they told the plan too, I mean I have a fulltime starting on may the suposed end month of the semester, and If we lose our semester then how are they gonna compensate for our time..... if it meant going to summer semester. It would screw up OUR jobs it wouldnt be fair and make them look bad. If it was a few extra weeks-or a month- during may and no summer semester I would kinda be okay with that.(It still screws up my job....) I ll upload the pictures of how the college are, Ill make a podcast or informative thing as I find my microphone.
You should seriously sue the college. You gave them money with the agreement that they would teach you, and they are breaching that agreement. If you're really lucky you'll get enough money that you'll never have to work and won't even need to finish school.
Yeah its gonna be a great scale sue if it comes to that it seems, as there are already tracing the plans for such sue. personally I dont want it to come to that. but Damn they are really pushing it
Well they can at least ask for a refund if they lose the semester have you seen the colleges FAQ about theStrike? they are practiaclly begging for people to not withdraw and ask for refunds. becuase the moment it starts imagine the amount of money they would lose
Hmmmm...This is crazy. I don't know how to feel about this. It sucks it's messing with ya'll's school time.
It is total bullshit to jeopardize the scholarly careers of so many, midstream, because of something like this. Both sides are wrong and should be severely punished for this travesty. You want to go on strike, do it during the summer, not when thousands are depending upon you to get their education.
I'd say if it goes on more than a week and a half to two weeks all the students should start to organize themselves and begin dropping classes and asking for a refund in massive numbers. The teachers know if the school doesn't have any students then they don't have a job to go on strike from. None of these people are recognizing how much power you students have.
