Now that Spinosaurus and Velociraptor has found TF fame through Scorn and Slash, and that we´re gonna have a plesiosaur in the form of (not-)Paddles, what other dinosaurs could be interesting to turn into Dinobots? Here are a few suggestions on my part:

    therizinosaurus_by_antarcticspring-d365n2d.jpg

Therizinosaurus - Definitely different from most dinosaurs, anatomically. Impressive giant claws... a challenge for any toy designer...

    steamworkshop_webupload_previewfile_144206521_preview.png

Carnotaurus - One of the oddest carnosaurs out there, naturally weaponized...

    weirddinos12_Slide.JPG

Gigantoraptor - Again, something different from the overall bulkiness of the Dinobots. How about turning those arm- and tail feathers into sharp blades?

    Amargasaurus_BW.jpg

    Amargasaurus - Neck spike mayhem!

    Kentrosaurus.jpg

Kentrosaurus - Even more spikey mayhem!

    Papo_Pachyrhinosaurus.jpg

Pachyrhinosaurus - It has a battering ram built into its face!

And from here on, not true dinosaurs but nevertheless prehistoric reptiles!

    Nyctosaurus_gracilis_by_unlobogris.jpg

Nyctosaurus - What if its head-sail is some sort of vibro-blade?

    73304d3e3fbc.jpg

Shonisaurus - A whale-sized ichtyosaur, some serious backup for Paddles!

    liopleurodon-dino-large.png

Liopleurodon - Another whale-sized behemoth, slower than Shoni but with more massive jaws...

    Tylosaurus-dinosaurs-22606213-540-397.jpg

Tylosaurus - This beast from the Cretaceous oceans of Kansas is both swift and powerful... The king of the oceans of its age!

...so what do you think? Can there be too many dinobots? Or should we have a team of Dinocons? Any other species you´d like to become Dinobots? Lemme know what you think!

I think you named just about everything I'd have. Nycto, Carnoto, Amargas, Theriz... yep.

I'd love to see a Dinocon team. They could be retools of the Dinobots -- Amargas could be EVIL Sludge, Nycto EVIL Swoop, etc.

Correction on the bold, the Velociraptor found fame in Transformers by Beast Wars Dinobot. He was popular enough to win the first Transformers Hall of Fame fan vote.

But I would love to see more prehistoric inspired beast modes.

Great suggetions! I especially agree with the following:

    Parasaurolophus-1.jpg

Parasaurolophus - Perhaps the most iconic dinosaur species not yet getting a proper transformers character (except as part of the PCC Dinobots)

    sauropelta-a-nodosaurid-dinosaur-mohamad-haghani.jpg

Sauropelta - It has got some serious melee potential with those spikes!

    Dimetrodon_1.jpg

Dimetrodon - A true icon, also part of Dino-PCC, but needs its own proper character. What if the back sail was a chainsaw?

    Estemmenosuchus 1.jpg

    Estemmenosuchus - That face!

    Dinosaurus_-_Dinosaur_-_Dinosaurio_-_flying_Dinosaur_-_Pterosaur_-_Pterodactyls_-_Tapejara-04.jpg

    Tapejara - Another flying blade-head!

...and a few more additions of my own:

    lion_vs_inostrancevia.png

Inostrancevia - The sabertooth of the age of reptiles!

    ankylosauria_1.jpg

Ankylosaurus - Another dinosaur icon that needs to be lifted out of its PCC drone-only status...

EDIT: I just found out about Slapper...

    stock-photo-ceratosaurus-casual-walk-62765134.jpg

Ceratosaurus - Because I always dug that nose horn!

I'd definitely be down for some kind of Icthyosaur (though it would end up looking like a robo-fish! I would say Deinonychus, but it's pretty much these guys that play the part of the velociraptor in popular culture (real velociraptors were only about a meter tall, but you probably knew that!).

A tiny Compsognathus minicon would be cool, and of course Dilophosaurus! I know the frill is a bit of a cinematic embellishment, but that could look cool.

I know the Decepticons have Dinoking but it would be nice for the Decepticons to have their dinobots. There are plenty of dinosaur species out there for them to choose from.

Even tho not technically a dinosaur I always had a fascination with the Megalodon Shark, that thing makes the great white seem like an aquarium fish, the Megalodon can get as big as some whales of today,oh and I'm talking 65-70 feet long.

Oh and while I'm at it here are some other prehistoric creatures (not just dinosaurs) I'd like to see get made in the TF Line:

Sabertooth Tiger man would those teeth be the stuff of nightmares if one was after you.

Those little dinosaurs at the beginning of Jurassic Park 3 that were about a foot high (perfect troop builders).

I always liked the Rhamphorhynchus air raptor due to its small size of 3 feet wingspan, and even tho I love Swoop in any design I just think Hasbro should do a 2nd flying dinosaur design, namely the Rhamphor.

The ever popular pterodactyl (and his smaller cousin Nemicolopterus at only 10 inches fully grown),these creatures epitomize why Hasbro should do more Dinobot Transformers, they are just wondrous to think what they lived like 100s of millions of years ago.

So in closing I just say Hasbro should create a whole new line with nothing but Dinosaurs and maybe some more modern prehistoric creatures like that Sabertooth Tiger I wrote about,so I hope Hasbro considers giving them there own line and call it something like Dinobot Island 2 (I know LAME but its the only thing I can think of on short notice).Later all.

You could have a whole sub-line of dino type Transformers, and here is how. Thunderwing, while researching for organic pretender technology solutions, found a planet similar to Earth that had indigenous earth-like prehistoric species, he planted a techno-organic virus into the ecosystems as an experiment that would eventually turn all full organic things into a Cybertronian like sub-species over millions of years of evolution. He wanted to see how they could be melded. At the same time, just in case it all worked out, he seeded the planets core to become an Energon producing body that would spread the energy throughout the planet and then the native organics would help weed out the impurities of the Energon through millions of years of recycling, from consumption to breakdown to decomposition to back into the planet and then remade as a more potent and compatible food source for the average Cybertronian. He did all this (lets just say) in preparation of Cybertrons possible destruction. The virus worked, the Energon became a super fuel and eventually made the beasts of the planet live longer and achieve a super intelligence of their own, although they never achieved the ability to transform. Later, Science Division groups from both Decepticons and Autobots found the Energon signal as it became its most potent and both sent large exploration groups to investigate. To search for the mysteries of the planet without being stopped by the native Dinotronians the Cybertronians needed to blend in and took native forms. Adventure and hilarity ensues.....Bam.

There is your reason to make an ass load of new dino type characters and since its all made up and let's not get into any evolutionary conundrums, we'll just say that all the coolest beasts were on it.

Or whatever....don't kill me super fan boys for my possible plot holes, I just want more dinobots.

It's never going to happen, but wouldn't a titanosaurid (like Argentinosaurus or Amphicoelias) make an excellent Titan Class dinobot?

Generations Metroplex could have a new pet dinosaur!

Sure, let´s throw some prehistoric mammals into the mix, and boost the ranks of the Glacialbots ;)

    MammothVsMastodon.jpg

Mammoth and mastodon... Sure, we have Tusker, but do you think FP will give their Glacialbots CHUG treatment eventually?

    Deinotherium12.jpg

Deinotherium - Bigger than a mammoth, a bit dumber, but friggin´ scary!

    Platybelodon-738x591.jpg

Platybelodon - Wins the "strange" category among the proboscideans...

    evi_megatherium_large.jpg

Giant ground sloth - With huge slashing claws...

    Doedicurus_BW.jpg

Doedicurus - Yup, we have Tailclub already, but I had to include this one...

    Elasmotherium.gif

Elasmotherium - This giant rhino might have inspired legends about unicorns...

    70._Brontotherium_primitivni_kopytnik.jpg

Brontotherium - Has a perfect throwing device at the end of its snout...

    Arsino_1.jpg

Arsinoitherium - What´s better than one giant horn? Two giant horns!

    Promo_Basilosaurus.jpg

Basilosaurus - Which is, despite the name, a terrifying prehistoric whale!

    prehistoric_mammals___livyatan_melvillei_by_balcsika-d79x53f.jpg

Leviathan - Imagine an enormous sperm whale with sharp, giant teeth in both jaws feeding on other whales... Simply terrifying!!!

Beast Wars Neo Big Convoy would make a nice leader for them. He even has the mammoth beast mode too.

While we are adding creatures from that era, I would love to see a Terrorbird transformer.

Glad you dig it. This is as plausible as I could come up within about 5 minutes of thinking about a reason for more to be made.
