Is that wave over and done with? I noticed BBTS has a preorder for a case thats scheduled for release in a month or so, does that mean it will also be released in stores again, or must I resort to ebay?

the wave with skids and waspinator?

you're going to have to check out ebay. the next wave that'll be in stores is the rattrap wave.

or you might want to check out local comic book shops, sometimes they'll have older figures that haven't sold.

I believe Hasbro confirmed that the wave that contained Skids is going to see another release later this year due to the low numbers of the initial run.

Yup, should be up for an additional release the next few months to make up for the shortage earlier.

No, it won't. One, it won't impact mass retail (where most buy their toys), and two, as of right now, the direct sales guys are only reporting this for Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black 6".
And again, the individual figures aren't "new runs", they come from the same runs of the original wave, so if a figure is abnormally popular, it will STILL likely sell out, regardless if Hasbro offers it individually.

As stated, wave 1 2014 is getting a "rerun" due for release at the end of summer. However, with Rattrap/Tankor's wave shipping and the Nightbeat/Windblade/Jhiaxus wave slated to appear at the same time, there is NO guarantee that your local area will actually see the wave.

I missed everyone in this wave. It seemed like they carme and went. If they make their way back around, that would be cool. Considering I've see some other sets make a second and in some cases what seems like a late run, I'm hopeful for these guys.

Basically, what happened is that half the wave was having QC issues. Waspinator was a mess of thin plastic that broke easily, and Skids was having some issues with hip misassembly and other things. The first run was ended early as a result, and wave 2 was bumped up a bit. Hasbro is re-releasing the entire wave this fall, most likely after the Nightbeat/Windblade/Jhiaxus wave (which I believe is expected in August?) and before the Arcee/Chromia/Crosscut wave.

Adding to what Steevy mentioned in the last of his post, this re-release is going to compete with the other waves, so if you are interesting in securing a set, I would recommend pre-ordering the set online through BBTS or TFSource, or the online e-tailer of your choice.

    That's NOT what happened.
Stores just didn't order a lot for the new year, which effected practically EVERY Transformers assortment (remember the concern that Cosmos/Swerve were cancelled? Or the non-appearance of the 2014 Beast Hunters toys?).

Wave 1 2014 just happened to have ended up short produced because of weaker retail orders. Hasbro saw that shortage and responded with a fresh run. But due to the turnaround on making them, we didn't see the refresh until several months later.

If we're lucky, the misassembly on Skids will get fixed, but the issues with Waspinator are the result of how he was designed and molded, and WON'T be fixed

I seriously doubt that "confirmation" by Hasbro wasn't true they also said they were going to rush out Cosmos and Swerve but mostly Targets got them WMs all got in Bumblebees and Primes.

You're not wrong, but that's not the entire story. Stores don't order specific waves; they just order more cases of a product line. Wave 1 had a short production run because it was stopped early to fix QC problems, and Wave 2 was pushed up to meet retailer demand. Because there weren't many orders for 2014 Generations, that meant that very little of Wave 1 even made it to shelves; generally only one or two cases per store, total, if even that.

they say it will have a later re-release...but i am betting that stores decline to purchase that wave since there will be plenty of Movie and Generations TF stuff about in stores still....Look how long it took to get the DOTM stuff gone,

You can still find it in the discount stores and some retail stores (ROSS, WALMART, etc)
