...Is there anything that i really should know? I'm downloading the newest OS right now, and I've got Tap Tap Revenge 3. Any absolutely essential apps or other stuff i should know about? I'm a complete noob with Apple products, so i'm not familiar with their stuff. I have managed to get my local WiFi connected, and my mail working.
Depends on what you're into. There is a cool little free MMOR called Pocket Legends, and then a bunch of cool RPGs and Zelda-like Action Adventure games.
Download Dropbox. If you follow my referral link, we both get an extra 250mb! https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTQxMDgyOTc5
If you are completely new to iPod Touches, I do not recommend jailbreaking yet. Get used to the device first. Here are my list of absolutely essential downloads: • AppMiner - Let's you find apps on sale or reduced to free. • IMDB • Critter Crunch - Great puzzle game. • Rock Band - Surprisingly good on the iPod. • LightBike - Great Tron Light Cycle game (DO NOT download LightBike2). • Baseball '10 - If you like "cute" sports games with surprising depth, this is perfect. • Dragon's Lair - Only if you remeber the arcade original. • The Creeps! - Probably the best tower defense game on the app store. • Joost - Like Hulu on the go. • Piyo Blocks - Another great puzzle game. • Frogger - Near perfect arcade conversion. • Devil Invasion - Fun combat puzzle game. • Hottest Apps - Keeps track of the apps that are climbing the charts. Great way to find new apps.
LB 1 is the only app that has stuck in my iphone from my 3G all the way through my new Iphone 4. Graphically, LB2 looks great, but they made it online only and you have to sign up for it.
I did, when it was $.99, which made it a must buy. Thankfully, just had an iTunes giftcard that I could use.
jailbreak is a os made by hackers. jailbreak if you want nintendo games or make it more like a droid. if you don't then don't do it. it can be cool but i don't think it is. i had mine jailbroken for a year then os 3.0 came out and i didn't miss it. it also takes away warranty.
If you're into J-RPGs, definitely check out Square Enix's Chaos Rings, an original PSP/DS quality RPG, with a classic turn-based battle system, and a really unique character progression system. Stunning graphics. They've also ported the PSP versions of Final Fantasy I/II, and Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of Lions (the PSP update/retranslation of the original FFT) are due out later this year.
