Dunno about the second run, but mine's first run and doesn't have any of those problems.

Got mine on release too, and mine has ALL those problems, as well as the 'Cosmic Rust' tarnishing on the die-cast feet and shoulder/chest linkage.

It is a fantastic-looking figure, but the QA is appalling.

I can only hope it's improved on the second run.

I think the 2nd run is pretty much the same as the first run. Mine had the cosmic rust/tarnish on the feet right out of the box.

I've bought mine when he first came out [March 2007] and am annoyed by the following:

    • The legs dangle at the hip\waist connection and there's no way to tighten that part-if left alone he may do the split or something
    • Arm just can't hold the fusion cannon-don't dare to leave it posed like that
    • Most of the ball-jointed armour parts snap off at the slightest breeze

I'm thinking of getting a new one from TFsource, but if the second run suffers the same problems as my first, I'd rather just sell mine and get over with it.

    Any help?

    Thanks in advance

I got mine from TFSource a few weeks ago and it suffers all of these faults.
These are QA issues not TFsources fault. Their level of service was fantastic.
Will definately buy from them again.

Mine has a pin that's only halfway in on one of the waist/trigger connectors - not a problem in either mode but something to watch when transforming.

Don't mess with mine much, too scared after hearing about all the problems.
Need to open him back up and check him out , it's been awhile

My MP Ultra Magnus's smokestacks were chrome faded right out of the box

I'm surprised that Takaratomy didn't do anything to improve on Megs but then again I recall a fellow board member SydneyY saying that there were no such complaints from Japanese TF fans so...I'm guessing that TakaraTomy thinks that QC on the bad boy is ok?

Mine doesn't have tarnished feet, yet. But it is winter now, in summer where he's stored can get humid so we'll see come July. I can pose him with cannon arm extended. It's tricky though as the ball joints that are his ankle don't hold up well. Right now his sitting behind MP Starscream and IIRC his cannon is resting on SS stand.

I got way lucky with mine I guess. My first run Megs has no problem. And living in NM, I have no rust problems, either with my cars or with Megs.

The joints are all still very tight, and the metal accessory leg covers give a nice weight that makes posing easy.

sorry this sounds like bragging, but my MP Megs is worth it. Superbeeds sent me a good one.

Mine has the tarnish problems. I cleaned in off the feet, but it is a bitch to get off of the spine and the rest of the skeleton. Still an awesome toy though and glad that it is in my collection.

yep mine too, looks like he got some dog shite splattered on his shiney boots! I'm using a sponge pad from the kitchen which seems to remove it but not without scratching. :(

I've got some 99% rubbing alcohol from the father-in-law which is getting rid, but still, d'oh!
