So, Ravage and Megatron line of dialogue is ambiguous enough that we can assume Megatron is just playing the Autobots up for a fool, but during DArk Cybertron, Soundwave, who is a telepath, was genuinely surprised and disappointed at Megatron. Had Megatron been playing the Autobots, wouldn´t Soundwave detect that?

I am not sure he is genuine. I like what he said so far about classism with cold constructs and forged. Ravage well I think Megatron was protecting the Autobots from themselves. Roberts Autobots are well not always the good guys that they did some despicable things to maintain power. Megatron's Trial showed that Autobots are not ready confront their own sins.

That line wher he was somehow communicating with ravage tellin him to chill didn't look good.

Let's remember that at the close of the crossover Soundwave read his mind and decided he had abandoned the Decepticon cause for real.

Megatron will be a bad guy again eventually. But it will likely be a case of irreconcilable differences rather than a long-term scheme to destroy the Autobots from within.

I REALLY hope he's sincere. Having Megatron actually seeking redemption is an epic story to tell and one I want Roberts to tell. This could be one of the best Megatron storylines EVER if he is sincere.

I think he's genuine, but he does have a bigger plan AND is very prideful. I think the conversation with Ravage, as well as Megs pulling the gun were intentionally ambigious enough to make us question his sincerety.

Until the next soft reboot makes him bad again :lol

I want him to be sincere. I'd really like his message to Ravage was just to stop him getting killed by Autobots. I would really also like Ravage being there simply because he wants to be there. I don't want this to be a "Soundwave's spy/saboteur" thing.

I think it's very, very grey. I don't believe he's outright villainous, but he hasn't completely reformed.

I remember in an interview, either Barber or Roberts stated that they have no plans of switching Megatron back.

I refuse to believe that he's just biding his time for another supervillain plot like in RiD, because that would actually ruin Transformers comics a bit.

That said I have little expectation of him being a nice Autobot.

That's a good point, he may be an Autobot now but that doesn't mean he's a total goody two shoes. Remember him threatening Trailcutter?

Initially when reading that I thought "oh crap we're getting Bad Megatron again already?!" but then I realised this is all part of Roberts plan, and chances are Megs has a much more interesting plan than just 'surprise! I was a bad guy all along'. It'd be incredibly cheap.

I'm now even more excited to see where this path Megatron's taking leads.

Yep. Primus have mercy on anyone who'll end on Meg's way to carry his new shiny Autobadge. If Autobots are like superheroes, then Meg can be the Punisher at best.

This would be a pure poetry if Megatron finished Overlord while wearing the Autobot sigil.

But I think he's genuine. Genuinely himself. Manipulative, proud and self-centered. :lol

Ravage was with Soundwave and opted for sneaking into the Lost Light instead of going to Earth. It may be that he's more loyal to Megatron in person, and less to the Decepticons as a whole.

Megatron is a tentpole character in a billion dollar franchise. He'll be a villain again. The journey should be fun though.

I wouldnt trust interviews either. A year and a half ago Spider Man writer, Dan Scott, had peter parkers mind swapped with Otto Octavia. The title was renamed superior spider man and was to be "permanent."

It lasted a little over a year, produced tons of fans, sold well, and guess what? You can go to your local comic book store to but a copy of Amazing Spider-Man starring the real Peter Parker. Issue 4 coming soon.

On the other hand, Sunbow cartoon ran for quite long with Galvatron at the Decepticon helm. And now we have Galvy as Decepticon leader.

Megatron has an agenda. He ALWAYS has an agenda. And I am pretty sure this agenda once again involves taking over, except that we will all be pretty surprised what he will be taking over.

But I'm sure about one thing; he has a special kind of hell planned for Starscream and Galvatron.

Megatron is as sincere as he can be.

Keep in mind, his vision of "doing the right thing", for the right reasons may require the death of others. In his mind, he is doing what is right for the cause..it just may not be best for the Autobot cause.

    He's become like Magneto.

    Megatron's trying his best.

but yeah it's inevitable he'll go back to villainy.
