Don't really like it, but I can live with it, as long the rest of the figure is awesome, like Deluxe Strafe.

It's funny you mention Strafe. Since I first started this thread, I've picked Strafe up... and I think he's the first instance I've found where curling arm syndrome is actually impacting my ability to enjoy a toy. His arms make his crossbow weapon totally useless, since he can barely hold the thing. The swords are ALITTLE better, but I'm finding it difficult to put them in convincing poses.

He's lucky his dino mode is so neat.

that's glatorian bionicle for you. grimlocks arms haven't bothered me, he can still rotate his wrists.

yea, i mean if you have wrist articulation then it offsets it. but if you dont, or the wrists are really weird [aoe strafe] then it kills the figure. i dont know if i want any aoe dinos to be honest.

Only one of the AoE dinos has full-on, uncompromised curling arm syndrome.

    Slug straight-up doesn't have it.
Neither does Scorn (I have no idea why people are saying he does)
Grimlock does to an extent, but you can get around it by not locking a certain tab into place.
Strafe full-on has curling arm syndrome, though.

i absolutely agree with you.. these inwards bending arms are absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for, there is literally no good reason for them.

i do not understand why hasbro continues to do this. it just doesn't make any sense. they can turn a good looking mold into a figure that looks weird.

like you said, with strafe, it's REALLY difficult putting his arms in a position that doesn't make him look ridiculously stupid.

and worst of all.. IT'S NOT LIKE HIS ARMS TRANSFORM AT ALL!!.. it's unbelievable.

and his wrists even have swivels.. but they're in the wrong direction, i just don't get it.

i would ABSOLUTELY LOVE it if someone had the balls to ask hasbro why they do this at botcon.. i wish i had the money to go, or else i'd try to do it myself.

    unbelievable.

strafe, slash, from the looks of it, snarl will, same with slog.

that's FOUR out of SEVEN dinobots with shitty arms that can REALLY ruin the enjoyment of a solid mold.

    this is so dumb.

Why are they called gorilla arms. gorillas have the same arm articulation we do- they are able to move their arms any which way.

No they don't try walking a gorilla see how your arms feel, they have a different muscle configuration plus that's what the poster called it.

They have a completely different arm set up we are the only ape that have our specific arm set up and proportions.

their arms move, but their wrists dont so you are left with a gorilla walking on 4s type pose.

As long as it's executed well, like Movie Stockade(in my opinion), then I have little to no problems with it.

But.. Uh... No. But I think they'd have been cooler figures had they been able to have normal arms...

I hated it too, but it is fixable, and it's not that hard. I posted a how to on Radicons: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/988192-how-fix-aoe-strafes-stupid-wrists.html

    i might do that.

but now the problem is the hollow forearms.

had hasbro done this the right way in the first place.. there would be a lot figures that would become instantly better.

someone should really voice this grievance at botcon. there's no reason to do this. it's just lazy.

i mean.. leader class starscream is awesome.. but it would be SOOO much better with a damn wrist swivel, it's unreal how sucky something like this can be. it's astonishing how much better a toy can look when you're able to position the arms in a proper way.

if i could afford to go to botcon i sure as hell would grill them on something like this.. it's not like it's one of those budget things or "well, they're for kids" type of things, or even a color thing.. it's just a common sense thing.

Depends on the character and sculpt in all honesty. Though it can get annoying at times.

I don't get the pictures, but quite frankly, that doesn't bother me enough to stop staring at the first one.
