Alright, I've been reading the ROTF novelization, and have read the majority of it. A lot of that which follows will be spoilers, so go away if you don't want to be spoiled. To start, the story starts in China where we have the Autobots hunting down Demolisher and Sideways. It talks about Arcee catching up to Sideways, taking him on as the triplets, and then combining to fight. Later on in the story we have the fight where it's Megs, Blackout, and Starscream vs Optimus, and Optimus gets beat up pretty bad. Megs is about to obliterate him when the rest of the Autobots show up to repel the decepticons and save Optimus. Arcee included. Now I'll hold off there, because I don't need to spoil any more to make my point. Jolt is not mentioned. There's nothing that indicates that he even exists in the book. He obviously is in the movie, given the recent Cinematical shot and all the production spy pics. And we know he was a last minute addition. But I haven't seen anything with Arcee in Egypt. I know Michael Bay basically told a crowd a couple months ago, that Arcee gets killed off in the first five minutes of the movie (but not in the novelization). So I wonder if Michael just decided to do away with the chick transformer in favor of the hybrid.
I think he was just doing that to get a rise out of the dude who was interviewing him, and Transformers fandom in general. It's prolly false.
I am sure it is false. This is the same guy who said Megatron wasn't in it at all, then (after Weaving revealed he did voice work) said that he only appeared in flashbacks! This is misinformation at its core. No one, not even Bay, would be dumb enough to reveal the fate of ANY character, especially after all the stuff he said about desiring secrecy, just willy nilly like that.
The novelization may be part of Bay's misinformation campaign. Call me crazy, but they could have released it with the earliest complete script and only print a couple hundred books (maybe a thousand at most). Then they distributed them earlier than expected on purpose to get fan reactions/throw us off of the real plot. Anyways, pardon my slight insanity in the above paragraph.... The novelization is obviously early scripting. Maybe the Skids/Mudflap thing was mixed up because they wanted Skids to do it first, but they changed their minds and switched the roles of the beloved (or not) twins. Arcee dying is very much so likely to be misinformation. The first five minutes are probably prologue with a tiny bit of searching for Demolisher in Shanghai. Plus Bay has tried so hard to cover up the mere robots appearing in the film. Why would he disclose a major plot point like that so easily/freely? Even if Arcee is a minor character in the movie, why would he disclose that? It's a character death that gives away more than knowing who is in and who isn't. This leaves Springer as still possible. Why the freaking heck does he have a Movie Legends and a Robot Heroes if he isn't in the movie? Both of those toy classes are movie character exclusives (meaning they were seen onscreen at least once).
I suspect a lot of the bike screentime (I will not call all three bikes 'Arcee'...... there's proof that they are separate characters with one of them being called Arcee) will be consisting of CGI work rather than actual physical on set work.
i bet demolisher kills her. that will shut the arcee fanboys up Jolts car form looks awsome glad if he replaces her
Problem is Arcee was reconsidered in the Tfs 2 script for a long while BUT Jolt was the last addition and the writers had a hard time convincing Bay to have one more Autobot in the film which eventually became Jolt. I think Jolt gets killed and Bay said that of Arcee being killed in order to monitor what would be the fan reaction !! In the book, Arcee is stronger and faster in her merge-form. I truly doubt Bay kills her since he only spoke of the Pink-bike, But Arcee is a 3 bike-bot 1 mind merger !!! Won't the other two live ??
Im hoping this is misinformation to be honest, i like Arcee and would hate to see her killed off. I truly dont think Bay would speak about any characters dying or anything of the sort. I guess well have to wait and see what happens.
I am almost positive bay was lieing. Arcee won't die, and I agree he wouldn't give away character deaths like that. I'm hoping Arcee has more screentime in the movie that she apparently does in the book. If I'm correct she only appears to save Optimus in the book, and after that she isn't heard from again? I would love for her to have a more significant role in the movie, but it looks more and more unlikely.
