So does anybody buy 3rd party stuff for non CHUG or MP purposes?

Usually, I see collectors purchase 3rd party TFs to enhance their CHUG or MP collections. So out of curiosity, does anybody purchase 3rd party stuff to enhance their collection that is not related to CHUG? Maybe aligned or the movieverse?

    I do.

I've been using the Warbotron Combaticons as RID Scourge's new team as a Ruination version probably isn't going to happen.

I'm using the MMC Predacons as post war version of the G1 characters active 30 years after the events of Beast Machines. I'm using Fansproject Steelcore as my Omega Primax character, a Maximal relation of Optimus Prime in the same time era too.

My collection is 100% what I like, anything else is sold. I don't label it in any way.

Sure. Hearts of Steel from MMC, Targetroids from TFC, etc. There isn't a lot of 3rd party stuff that isn't Classics-ish, but I'm usually in favor of it when they do something different, like FP's G1 Glacialord, or Mech iDeas doing the Animated toys, or the FoC stuff coming out.

Iron Factory and DX9 legends figures, and Custom Robots additions to the Revoltech line. Those are about the only 3P TFs that I buy that aren't for the MP collection though.

Don't see much difference between CHUG and MP -- the Wreckers I've got are a mix of FP and CHUG for the most part, but G2 Sideswipe and MMC Catilla are with them. There are vague scale considerations, mostly of the "the big stuff goes at the back" kind. It's nearly all versions of pre-BW, apart from RID Grimlock and Strongarm, but skewing a bit towards later characters.

On the "normal" Autobot shelf, Brainstorm's next to Wheeljack next to AF Goldbug and TFC Air Raid. The Decepticon shelf's got MP, CHUG, minor customs and a load of 3P. Even the Lost Light shelf's got MP Ravage... Infinitor's next to TT Metroplex. And so it goes.

edit: Fangro doesn't really fit with anything except a love of sabretoothed tigers, I suppose. There are no actual original TFs out apart from a KO Browning, random G2 Brawl and 80s KO Grimlock.

Planet X's FOC Dinobots are a big one for me as well as the Dr. Wu Prime swords. But I must admit I mainly go for the CHUG fillers when it comes to 3rd party toys.

Does the MBC Bruticus set count? Cause he's really not my Classics Bruticus. He's my FOC Bruticus/another Bruticus in my collection. I also plan to get a couple upgrades for my Leader movie figures. Oh and the Planet X Dinos. I have Snarl and Swoop.

Yep, bought MakeToys Giant Type 61 just because he looks incredible. My collection of Transformers otherwise is all Movie based.

Though in retrospect, this is my third "construction vehicles" set if you count Movie Devastator (I got him for 15 bucks, sue me) and Ultimate Daibouken from Go Go Sentai Boukenger.

I guess I sorta just like contruction vehicles.

I have a lot of 3P but personally for me I just buy it because I like it. No labels for these for me.

I don't have many full figures, but the TTT Bluster and Trench (Animated), plus some Dr Wu accessories for my Prime collection.

I did a lot of upgrade kits for my prime figures, between 3p and shapeways, currently my main 3p items are chug in some form, but the prime ones were pretty sweet. Oh yea I also have the boosticus hands and feet plus the Wrecktifier chest shield, waist piece, treads and thigh fillers for foc ruination and Planet X dinobots

I don't plan any toy for use with any particular line. If something looks awesome, seems to be of good quality and is a character I'm interested in I'll buy it. If it fits with Masterpiece toys, cool. If it fits with Classics toys, cool. If it doesn't match anything else I have at all, cool. I honestly couldn't care less.

oh is that what you meant? Then it's just this:

Otherwise, my TF are grouped by characters or colours, not Chug or MP.
