Wow, that is some pretty harsh criticism. I had heard of the first complaint, but I never knew that Kathleen Kennedy was hounding women off social media. I wouldn't say that they never happened, but do you have a link?

    Punctuation is important.

You know, I've never liked Darkseid as the literal embodiment of tyranny or some cosmic nonsense like what Final Crisis did (but I'll admit to not being entirely familiar with what Jack Kirby's original intent was), but I'll agree with this. The League or Superman should never be taking Darkseid on in a straight fight the way they almost constantly do. And that's why I have no faith in Snyder's ability to accurately portray Darkseid.

So who should be fighting him? The Gods of New Genesis? More specifically Orion?

I may not have liked, at all, but they did stick to it. Or a version thereof. So they were committed to it.

I actually liked Superman 3's villain, as a 'better' Luthor, who was the millionaire guy building a super computer to dominate the world, which combined the best of both the scientist Luthor and the business versions into one. Luthor has a better actor, but, man, do I like the other guy better. It's just a shame that, that the rest of the movie is a Richard Pryor film, guest staring Superman. Because the things that are actually Superman related, are the things I like the best out of all four Reeve films.

As for the dumb 'powers' plot, yea, I admit it's pretty dumb, but I still like the scenes. Heck, I like the majority of Superman 2 (Either cut.) I'd just like it better if it wasn't Superman, but someone else. I think it's a great film, just a poor Superman film. Especially when you compare it to the TAS Superman.

The only thing I have never liked about the Donner films, is the rotating the earth, thing. You mean, Superman can just go back in time anytime he want, if he fails? Then, what exactly are the stakes?

There’s been a lot of toxicity on the anti-Snyder side since the announcement too. This isn’t exclusive to Snyder supporters. Fandom at its worst.

So, I guess Cavill is in talks with WB for more Superman appearances. Maybe he will be reshooting some things for the Snydercut, along with some other things.

People aren’t required to appreciate his vision, but they should respect how he ignores the volumes of hate thrown his way and keeps on keeping on.

To me he already seems classier than a lot of other popular creatives.

I wouldn't give Snyder that much credit. While he hasn't engaged directly, the way he's gone about promoting the "Snyder Cut" just worked to stoke the toxic divides in the fandom, and he's essentially amassed an army to do the dirty work for him.

I’m gonna need an example of that one.
I mean... just by not engaging directly he’s already miles ahead of the others.

I don't think you get it. His entire "release the Snyder Cut" campaign is the example. He promised something that he had no ability or authority to give, but instead says "if you're loud enough about it, they'll listen to you (read: to me)". He gets to hide his temper tantrum behind a horde of screaming voices doing it for him.

You realize RTSC was started by fans right? And Snyder only started dropping JL stuff after he realized there were a lot of people who loved his work and were interested in seeing his version of JL. There’s nothing wrong with showing a few black and white stills of a movie that, according to WB, didn’t exist.

And the movement would have faded out in its own time, if he hadn't thrown in to stoke the flames.

Come on, let's not stoop to using the term "toxic" all the time. It's a cop out.

Snyder is a director. I happen to think he is a shit director, but he's a director nonetheless. He spent years of his life working on this thing, especially if you include the lead up movies. It's natural for him to want this to see the light of day. If he can get WB to foot the bill, I fully support his efforts to find a little closure here, even with the full knowledge that his closure will be abysmal.

Neither you nor I are paying for this to be made, so who cares? Let his fans have it. And if it really is as terrible as I expect it to be, maybe some of them will learn a little something from the experience, even if they don't ever admit to it publicly.

You realize “having an opinion” is not a temper tantrum, yeah?

Release the Snyder cut wasn’t started by Snyder, but of course he’s gonna support it. He’s been nothing but civil during the whole thing. You can’t just say “toxic” in regards to anything you disagree with.

That’s about as disingenuous as you can get. He responded to the movement, and hey, it bore fruit, so clearly it wasn’t a waste of time if it was a success.

There’s literally no negative here on Snyder’s part. The only people who’re being “problematic” are the ones who fervently denied the possibility of a Snyder cut and subsequently are pushing back against it.

I want to see this good or bad honestly. It'll be interesting to see what his original take was going to be. Hell, I'm not sure it can really be any worse than Whedon's mess. I don't necessarily think it'll be any better either... just a different kind of a mess.

I’d bet money that the hordes of fans screaming for the Snyder cut had nothing to do with this thing getting greenlit. WB has fans screaming for stuff all the time, and they don’t cave in to those demands.

If anything, this is being done to promote HBO Max first & foremost. They’re giving the people what they want, but they gotta subscribe first.

Any good PR they gain from that is just a bonus.

Lol yes, the only problematic part of this campaign are the people pushing against it. You’re always pushing this what-aboutism that downplays the actions of
bad fans. “Actually Rian Johnson is the real source of toxic SW fandom not the racist and sexist fans!”

Like, yeah, the harassing trolls that pushed for the Snyder cut are (hopefully) a minority, but don’t paint it as if they don’t exist.
