I have never signed up for an alert that has worked. I just assume that the real way they work is that the emails don't go out unless the stock is just sitting there. If it's a hot item that is selling out fast, emails aren't even sent.
I hope its not like the SS Link amiibo. I was refreshing that page like every day and night since it was announced. Then on the day it released, it went up at some random time and I missed it.
I'm in the US, but preordered from Amazon UK as a primary and Amazon Germany as a backup yesterday when the European orders went live. Completely ridiculous that US orders are not open yet. I have already wasted a day refreshing the order pages for Amazon and Best Buy. Do we have any word on if even Gamestop is going to open preorders?
Funny, how we need to resort to ordering from foreign countries. My order was placed in the Czech Republic. They have a german website, but the store is located in that country. I was a little afraid ordering from them last time. I don't know why. Everything was fine. But at the same time I was a bit cautious the first time I ordered something from China. But if it's legit stores, that's also fine all the time.
Finally got mine (EU version). Now I'll try my luck camping for a Super Famicom version (I want Goemon and SSF2).
Read a rumor somewhere that the FCC hasn't approved this yet, so no POs until they do. Salt shakers on this one.
I spoke with 5 GameStop stores in my state and they all say the same thing: GameStop will not have pre-orders.
Hope!! I really hope somebody does preorders online. I don't have time these days to be standing outside a Best Buy or whatever until they open just to get a chance at some stock. Reading up a bit on Amazon's sales restrictions, it looks like they have the "We cannot ship to the United States" warning with Amiibos as well, and apparently those regularly get over here. I feel safer, but fingers crossed. I actually prefer the design of the European console anyway with the colored button layout, but I want the US version for nostalgia purposes.
Last time when the NES classic was released, GS opened an hour earlier than normal and sold out in 10 minutes. I got lucky heading to Best Buy just down the street to get one. I'm heading at 6 in the morning. The next day I'll go back to pickup Resident Evil Revelations on PS4. For 20 dollars, it's a good deal.
Its the same thing flamepanther and I have been trying to say here for the past several months 'Cept when we were posting that, people got salty and it continues to cycle back to individual entitlement posts about how I don't have one so Nintendo is clearly in the wrong. Any concept of business, strategy, planning or rational thinking goes out the window and it kept boiling down to I don't have one so someone else is at fault. You can't really discuss that or have a rational conversation with that logic because personal emotions are involved. I think only a few here get it and grasp the concept of what Nintendo is actually doing. To the rest all I can really say is "happy hunting!"
I couldn't care less these days. You all can have mine. Not worth it imo. I'd rather get a Retron 5 and buy NES, SNES, Genesis, and GB games.
I'm definitely NOT going to jump through any hoops to find one of these things just because it's the "cool" thing to have. At this point Nintendo should have learned from their mistakes with the early waves of amiibos, the Zelda 3DS, the NES Classic and the Nintendo Switch on how to meet the demand. But seeing how they fucked themselves and fans by discontinuing the NES Classic I highly doubt it. But hey the scalpers were pleased and made a tidy profit off of Nintendo's ineptitude. But if I can't find it at retail prices it's just not worth it plus I already own a SNES and LTTP, SMW, Super Metroid, Secret of Mana, Super Castlevania, Starfox, and FFIII and Earthbound on the VC. Also Actraiser and Turtles in Time which are not on the SNES Classic.
Do all Gamestops do this or just larger ones? I suppose I should just ask the nearest store so I don't wait for them to open to be greeted by 'we don't have any' on release day
How come nobody gives a shit about the Genesis classic or whatever it's called? I've seen those rotting at Target for weeks. Didn't sega and Nintendo sell neck and neck back in the day?
