It's his RID Dawn Of The Autobots design.

Also in terms of where to start this might help. I used this when I first started 2 years ago.

Seeing the SND name gives me 'Nam flashbacks of putting together their Nova Prime kit. I felt pure fucking seething hatred that made me want to punt that figure into oncoming traffic.

    Where's the preorder?

I guess? But he doesn't really that close to Animated Prime, he's way more like G1 Prime.

Me: why does everyone have to make an Optimus Prime? Enough Optimi, already! Let’s see something else!

also me: oh, cool, look—an awesome looking Optimus Prime! Where do I pay!

I was never a huge fan of this particular design but the figure itself looks awesome! I really hope this means 3P CHUG is coming back, and it's not just a one-off. This sort of thing might be my best chance at getting a Stormbringer Jetfire update (or maybe even the T30 design minus the faux chest!).

I don't do much 3p stuff anymore but I might pick this one up! Really spiffy work!

I collect pretty much only this scale so I am so pumped to see this. I really hope this figure is decent quality and sells well enough for them to continue this line. New Generations scale 3p figures is something that's long overdue

Yes!!! My first thought as well

I really don’t like the concept of mass shifting, so Soundwave is the foremost gap in my collection. An IDW APC Soundwave would be a perfect way to fill it. I selfishly hope that’s their next project. That or Nautica, since it doesn’t appear it’s in the cards from anyone else anytime soon.

EDIT: if they could do the motorcycle Frenzy and Rumble figures, so much the better.

Also top priorities for me: a truly MtMtE/LL Cyclonus, and an IDW -Tion era Bumblebee.

Mass shifting never bugged me but I do prefer Soundwave as a van or APC vehicle so I would take it for sure.

Sure, that rings true, but does so with echoes of the Legacy TFP Bulkhead/Arcee treatment.
But they don't have an exact equal in G1 like OP or Ratchet... which, come to think of it, is probably a good chunk of the logic behind choosing them for "g1-ification."

Megatron as Stealth Bomber is my favorite Megatron. There's so few Stealth Bombers in Transformers that it gives him a really unique mode, it's a mode known for massive destruction, and it's just much cooler and more appropriate than a boring tank. I bought the MP-scale version of this guy, two of the deluxe figures from the Generations line (because one of them broke), and I would love an up-scaled version comparable in size to the voyager Megatron from Earthrise. I would absolutely buy that one.

Not sure about this Optimus. It'll depend on price point.

Proportions and lines on this are pretty bland compared to comic art. Looks lifeless.

Expect they have elements of their Prime designs, whereas this one has 0 TFA elements at all and is definitely pretty much all a G1 updated modern Prime.
I know, and hopefully more are to follow.

I'm going to get this. Not because it looks good(though it does). Not because the articulation appears to be fantastic(it does). Not because I need another Optimus at this scale(I don’t).

I'm going to buy it because I would love to see a 3P Renaissance in CHUG. The best thing about the old 3P was playability. They seemed to lose a lot of that in the transition to MP. I will support any 3Ps producing good toys that complement the mainline.
