Many of us received the $25 American Express gift card from FedEx. Being that the corner bagel shop didn't except the gift card I've called the nearest Starbucks which they excepted the card, dropped the plastic, and walked out with a bunch of goodies. Even though I was a little disappointed, I was hoping that the bagel shop would except the card because I would have went around 3:00 because the bagels would be 1/2 off, oh well. So, how are you going to use your gift card, this year?
I don't know any small businesses in my area that take Amex. I didn't when I had my business, the processing was too expensive and considering 99% of the customers in my area use Visa or Mastercard, it wasn't worth it.
That's pretty much what I've heard, it costs extra for small businesses to support Amex, and even then, they get charged a fee per use. So the costs just don't warrant it, for many businesses. That's why Amex wanted to use this concept to push their cards in the small business sector. It's a good idea though. Go use cash instead.
I'm using this Saturday for my Holiday Sale at my karate school. I never used to do a sale, but tried it last year and it worked well, so I thought I'd try it again this year. I've already made almost 2x as much as last year in pre-orders, but I'm really curious to see how it goes at the actual sale. Here's hoping it goes well.
If you want to get technical. I usually don't buy coffee since, I make my own at home and I don't buy bagels because I make bread at home. It was a spurge, the total cost of it was about .49 with tax and all.
Don't know, just got it in the mail in the being of this week. Got one last year too. It was in a white envelope.
Is that this Saturday as in today?? I'm a small business owner and I didn't make anything yesterday the so called busiest shopping day of the year. Maybe I'll have better luck today?
