I hope it does not require a new portal of power to play.

Depending on the size, the screen is probably worth that alone. That said, you can get the Starter Pack for around as much. But the case has some resale value.

Sweet. Hold onto it for a while and sell it on later, that's what I would do. Of course, enjoy it in the meantime.

Oh, and give me the Spyro and Cynder figures. ;)

I'm actually thinking of selling it now while it may be worth something, since I don't play the games.

I have got the Wii version of Skylanders.

I originally complained about how crap the 3DS version was.

    Wii is better.

I now have 11 Skylanders. Damn it, Activision. If you'd just sold the Wii version to me first, i wouldn't be so pissed off with this series.

Also, Chop Chop is the hax god of the series. Amazing Speed (Mine did 3 Heroic Challenges for +24 Speed and wears a lil' Devil hat for +9 speed, total 83), shield that blocks freaking everything, and enough attack power (not too much, 20 per hit as opposed to Ignitor's 28) to get the job done. Aside from Trigger Happy's Bouncing Bullets, there's nothing that can touch this guy one on one.

I picked up a pack today. I needed more chips for my kid anyways. The Skylanders offer was a bonus.

Whats funny is that people are selling the vouchers on eBay.

    And...what do the sidekicks do?

I mean, the names are generally just somewhat changed (Whisper Elf being the only really different one), and the designs are just like SD versions of the existing characters (as if Stealth Elf's big head wasn't SD enough already).

Still, i'd want a Whisper Elf and Terrabite, but only if they actually do something ingame. If it's just a statue, then forget about it.

Sidekicks are suppose to be like pets in games.

I mean, do they actually work on the Portal of Power? Is there data in the game for these guys?

I'm all for having mini Elf and mini Terrafin, as those two are cool characters in my book, but I'm having a hard time believing they would put extra data in the game just for a chip promotion. I've seen cheap plastic spinning tops, collectible plastic disks and even larger ramps, but a game accessory that works and has an RFID chip in it? Now that i've not seen in a packet of chips, no matter how large a packet we're talking.

Though i do hope my doubt is misplaced. I'd love to see Whisper Elf in game. Especially if she had anywhere near as much awesomeness as Stealth Elf (Pook Blade Saint is awesome).

EDIT: Apparently the Spyro Wiki confirms that they are working toys (well, not 'toys per se, but working statues for the game. One would assume this means that they have an RFID chip in them to allow Portal of Power connection, as they follow your Skylander around and help fight according to the wiki.

As if this game wasn't easy enough.

As if Stealth Elf didn't have enough deadly objects following her around helping her fight (Pook Blade Saint give two floating knives).

As if we really needed Whisper Elf to help Stealth Elf, who is already one of the best (if not the best) Skylanders as Pook Blade Saint.

*fruitlessly tries to convince himself to not try to buy Whisper Elf*

    *or Terrabite, for that matter*

Thank goodness I have no interest in Trigger Snappy and Gil Runt. Now the question is, do they only follow around their larger counterparts, or can they follow anyone? Because if they only follow around their respective larger counterparts, then Stealth Elf will become even more overpowered than she already is, while the other three won't do much. But if they can follow others, then a Terrabite/Drobnot combnation would be cool.

EDIT 2: They follow anyone, and do absolutely nothing. Not even attack. Damn. Oh well, i guess that will save me money. I was really hoping for a few attacks with these four, at least have Terrabite go in and punch something...oh well.
