I didn't play Spyro's Adventure, but read up on the story.

Giants is great fun, I love spending ages doing the Heroic Challenges.

Be carefull though, it's easy to be sucked in and buy more and more figures. When I picked up the game, I identified about 8 characters I wanted. I'm now up to 22, with intents of buying more this weekend.

Just picked up Thumpback and the Hot Dog 3-pack for my daughter last night. Sinci it was at Game Stop, spending over $30 on any Skylanders item gets you a free "pet", so she got the chibi Stealth Elf.

Hot Dog is a beast in the arena. Seriously fun little guy.

If you or your kids (if you have kids) collect Skylanders & Skylanders:Giants, FYE is closing some of their stores across the country and those particular stores have all items 50% off. You will have to call each store near you to find out if it is closing.

In Rhode Island, the Providence and Smithfield stores are closing. Everything in these two stores is 50% off. I checked out these two stores yesterday and they had TONS of Skylanders merchandise, from both the 1st game and from Giants. All 50% off retail price.

Picked up the Golden Dragonfire Cannon set and the Spyro's Adventure Legendary Triple pack for a steal tonight.

Also if you're in the UK the new Argos book was released tonight. Eyebrawl and Thumpback are listed as being released in February.

FYI, Skylanders Giants Scorpion Striker Battle Pack is being restocked at all GameStops if someone (like me) missed them the first time around. I grabbed it yesterday when I went in to pick up Ni No Kuni.

Found and grabbed the last Thumpback at walmart. Love that design. Honestly half the appeal of these to me is the designs. They just make neat little figurines.

Wave 3 is starting to trickle out in the UK now.

I popped out during lunch today hoping to pick up a new Skylander or two, and was surprised to find Thumpback and Eye-Brawl in Game (Edinburgh St James Centre).

They said they they were expecting a few more boxes of regular figures, but only got the Giants.

Usual UK RRP on them of £14.99, but I'm hoping that this means that the full Wave 3 will be out soon, as prior to Christmas I was finding Hothead in the shops about a week before the regular wave 2 figures appeared.

I took this picture to let a friend at work see, but I can't believe how many figures I've picked up, considering Id originally only decided to get one of each element, and a couple of other characters from certain elements.

Forcing the purchase of a new portal with each new game seems like a surefire way of turning fans off on this series.

Also, magnets in the new figures? In very close proximity to the chip/whatever it is these figures use to interact with the portals? Sounds like a potential disaster.

I got Spyro's Adventure recently and have been playing it up to chapter 20. I find the characters with ranged attacks to be easier to play with because many of the monsters can attack from a dsitance. The only character with melee attacks I used was Chop Chop.

Not particularly into Skylanders myself but I was Press at the Swap Force reveal. Here is a quick write up from 16bit I did the reporting on. 16bit.com: Toy Fair Coverage of Skylanders from Adam Pawlus

The game looks pretty fun. I've only had a little bit of playtime with the first one previously.

The magnets in the new toys are pretty solid and very satisfying to swap.

Well you aren't forced to buy the new portal when you went from SA to Giants but I don't think I would mind now with SF getting a new one. Plus it gives you some additional figures over the smaller pack.

My son though, he just wants em all...thank god my Transformers wants are dwindling.

The new game looks great! The new gimmick is interesting, but it doesn't appeal to me. Spyro is the only character I'll be using.

Can't wait for Skylanders Swap Force! I am anxiously awaiting Freeze Blade!

Still checking the stores for Molten Hot Dog. :D

After last year's debacle at E3 with Silver Spyro, I am planning on watching youtube and the news articles for coverage. The only benefit from going to E3 last year for Skylanders Giants was to play the Troll Home Security level with my own Drobot!

If you have not met Richard Horvitz (Kaos) yet, run out to a con to meet him this year! He's a real hoot.

That's good to know. He's going to be at Emerald City ComicCon next month. I'll have to make sure I go see him.

Hmm another Skylanders game. Seems a bit early. Still have at least a couple more waves to go on Giants.

It is part of Activision's Game per Year club.

All of the figures for Giants will be available by this summer. Then the drought that will make people want Swap Force. It is a genius plan, as long as people don't get sick of the game. Ala Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero/Rock Band.
