He's at least versed in the brand's comic history (has commented on which runs he prefers very recently), so its not like he'd be coming in as an outsider to the brand. Whether or not his interpretation of that Lore, characters, nuances, etc. lines up with what you or anyone else is into, maybe not, but IF he gets attached it would remain to be seen what he'd come up with, and it would at least be aware of what'd come before.
For me my wishlist would be Experienced tf writers Experienced tf artists Experienced suitors Stories set on cybertron, nebulos and earth at the same time. Not peace time war-time. Sorry
Would be cool if Optimus had some energy and charisma rather than being an exhausted and self-hating cynic. Also, give the magical macguffins (enigmas, sparks, et cetera) a rest and let transformers be machines so we can see some fun stuff that actually leans into their technology. Last one is long shot but let's get some camaraderie and belief in the cause on the Decepticon side. Give them some dimension for once. I know we all like to shit on AHM but it has one of the only scenes in TF comic history where two Decepticons have a true heart-to-heart with one another.
We probably will but transformers comics indeed transformers media are all about the war between the autobots and decepticons or the predacons v the maximals. We've had pre war we've had post war and while there were good moments in both you can't beat a good bot v con showdown. But that's just me

I'd be happy to see Roberts and Roche back. For once I'd like Prowl portrayed as his G1 tech specs: patient, logical and extremely efficient not a prick. I'd also like to see the usual Autobots put aside for a while. There are hundreds of Transformers to choose from. I want to see Autobots beside Wheeljack, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Arcee, Windblade, Kup, Jetfire and Alpha Trion for a change. I'd like to see Scorponok and Thunderwing portrayed closer to the Marvel incarnations that originally made them popular. Scorponok as a conflicted villain and Thunderwing with his Matrix affinity again.
Back to basics is almost a cliché ar this stage but a return to what made tfs comics great is what I would go for. Plus I'd like to see certain characters there from the start such as hot rod, ultra magnus, galvatron, scourge and cyclonus all present and correct. Planets like earth, cybertron, nebulous and velocitron should be a given. Factions should be based on each planet and have override be leader of velocitron after wining the speedia500. Spoiler sorry lol . Also no reason why autobots, decepticons, maximals and predacons cant exist on same timeline
12 days since the new year, are we still sure it's Skybound? BTW tfwiki's "Schedule" section looks so thin without comic release dates.
Dunno if it's Skybound, but GI Joe is all but confirmed to be continuing so, unless the license was split, I'm not too concerned
Do we know who got the Comics Rights yet? I saw on Facebook that it was Marvel, but you’d think something like that would have been announced in a big way (like Hasbro Pulse’s YouTube Stream or CBR)

If they start with a G1 Comic, have the war still rage, have Optimus be more like the cartoon and less the brooding, unsure leader (you want brooding leaders, read an X Book), if they want, have the universe be an amalgam of cartoon and comics (Dinobots be freakishly powerful but intelligent,Combiners a common sight). Use some other Japanese Characters, but be true to their portrayals (have Star Saber be a hero and not a corrupt zealot). In other words, no deconstructions of our favorite characters.
Oh, and if Spike shows up, make him an ally, not a morally dodgy man ho soldier. When it comes to Rumble and Frenzy, I say use RIBFIR
As long as they don't let Simon write any more backstories for the fembots, I wouldn't be opposed to his return.
